Flood Computing Solutions | Application Preview
Flood Computing Solutions is seeking government grants to expand its operations by hiring part-time employees to distribute flyers and generate new client leads. The plan includes eventually opening a small office to provide storage for equipment and workspace, and hiring another IT technician to handle remote and on-site service calls. Robin will maintain his role as the face of the business and an in-field technician, while another team member will manage bookkeeping, promotional materials, and service schedules.
The business aims to hire part-time employees who will engage with small businesses and provide valuable IT information. As client numbers grow, Flood Computing Solutions plans to open a physical location, hire additional technicians, and acquire Up and Running Computing when the owner retires in a year and a half.
The application highlights Robin's 30 years of experience in IT, emphasizing his ability to handle complex technical needs and build long-term relationships with clients. The founders believe in a client-first approach, aiming to educate clients and help them navigate the complexities of IT services.
Flood Computing Solutions distinguishes itself from competitors by avoiding the common pitfalls of overselling services without clear explanations. They prioritize integrity and transparency, addressing issues that clients often face with other providers, such as inappropriate billing practices and excessive markups on services. The focus on personalized service and ethical practices is seen as a key competitive advantage.

Funding Usage
We would like to expand by bringing on part-time employees to distribute flyers and cultivate new client leads. Once we have enough clients, we would like to open small office space. This would allow us space to store, cables, and systems and provided needed workspace. We would hire another IT technician to work remotes and on-site calls. Robin would continue to work as the face of the business plus as an in-field tech. I would continue to do bookkeeping, create promotional flyers and keep schedules/ dispatch for services.

Business Plan
The next step is to hire part-time employees to bring in new leads by going to small businesses and introducing our company while providing IT informational articles. Once clients increase, open a small business front and hire a second tech. Buy out Up and Running Computing when my Great Uncle retires in a year and a half. Rebrand our business to take that business name, website, and so on. Likely, hire another tech to assist with a full load of acquired clients. Robin has 30 years of experience in the IT field. Hands-on experience is priceless in this industry. Learning and adapting to an ever-changing field can be difficult for some but Robin has proven he can stay on top of a changing industry. He has been able to solely manage the IT needs of a company of 500 employees. Which again speaks to his dynamic abilities. He is interested in creating long-term relationships with his clients, giving a personal touch to his client's services, and knowing his clients and their employees on first-name bases. Givers gain is how we view business. By providing our clients with the right information and allowing them to make informed decisions, we assist them in navigating the technical and often confusing world of IT. I also bring a unique set of skills to the table that benefits the business. I have a background in doing many different types of work—everything from book keeping to sales, dispatching, and management. While I enjoyed my various roles, I would quickly find myself mastering the skill set for the position and sadly bored when I reached the ceiling in that position. I enjoy running my own business because I am wearing a different hat every day. The best part is our clients are all different. The investment firm does not require the same services as the HVAC company. I love this part of my job because it allows me always to be problem-solving. Robin and I compliment each other in a work environment, as we have seen working together at previous companies. We are excited to take our knowledge and bring in new employees to create a power team to assist all small businesses in Southern California to be the best they can be.

Self Identified Competition
Competitors in the area often pigeon hold themselves into residential or business services. We have seen many of our competitors throw long lists of monthly services at their clients with no true explanation of services. When we come in for a consultation we seem to always find many issues. Everything from clients being billed for a rental of equipment they bought outright to the IT service owning and holding the domain of the company hostage. In addition to that, we have found that some competitors charge up to a %1000 markup on services. Our field of work can seem like a foreign language to many people. This causes them to be taken advantage of without even realizing it. This is why we feel it is our duty to provide service with integrity.
