MBTI in Life | Application Preview
MBTI in Life is applying for government grants to support its growth as a business focused on cognition and relationship dynamics. The funding will mainly be allocated towards advertising and marketing to increase consumer awareness of its products, ensuring a steady stream of buyers. A significant portion will also go towards product creation and optimization, allowing the author to hire editors, beta readers, and experts for feedback on their work. This feedback is crucial for creating high-quality content that resonates with both professionals and general readers.
Additionally, funds will support content creation for various platforms, including blogs and audiobooks, as well as purchasing necessary software and equipment. If there are leftover funds, the business intends to invest in courses and seminars to further its understanding of online business operations.
The business plan includes the development of a blog website to provide free, valuable content and build an audience through an email list. Sales will occur on platforms like Amazon and Etsy, driving traffic back to the website where more information can be accessed. Social media will also play a significant role in growing the audience, with tailored content on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and Pinterest.
Continuous research on the target audience will help the business address their needs effectively. The author intends to diversify their offerings by branching into related subjects and creating products like planners and journals. The goal is to implement these plans within the next eighteen months, followed by three years of focused growth.
The application emphasizes the author's grit, commitment to quality, and passion for helping consumers understand their learning styles and improve their lives. The competition is limited in the cognition space, but businesses like Personality Hacker focus on personal growth and development. However, MBTI in Life distinguishes itself by concentrating on relationship dynamics and offering both written and tangible products, including journals and planners.

Funding Usage
Advertising and marketing will be a major use of this budget. Consumers have to be aware of the existence of a product before they can even consider purchasing it. I need to be able to steadily market my products over an extended time period in order to bring in buyers and readers. Product creation and optimization will be the second major use of this budget. As a writer, feedback is of the utmost importance. I need to be able to hire editors, beta readers, and individuals who specialize in cognition to review and critique my work. I need to know if other professionals in my line of work (cognitive differences, psychology) agree with the assertions that I make in my book--and if not, why not? I need to know how laymen (beta readers) react to my work; do they find the information useful and interesting? Finally, I need to hear from other writers and editors about things like wording, grammar usage, syntax, and overall structure. Etcetera. A lot goes into creating a quality book and it is important to me that I produce high-value products. Content creation will be a third major use. I need to be able to set aside time to create blog posts, videos, and other content for my target audience. I need to be able to purchase the software and equipment necessary to create quality products (for example, Adobe InDesign). I would also like to hire professionals to create content that I cannot create myself; for example, I am particularly interested in turning my books into audiobooks. My research indicates that such a venture could easily cost me $750 dollars for just one book. If any funds remain, they will be put towards educating myself further about building an online business. There are a number of courses and seminars that I would like to purchase but my funds are limited. I have to pick and choose which courses to take or otherwise wait many months before I have the money to invest in my education.

Business Plan
I plan to build my own blog website; this is a current work in progress. This website will provide a lot of free and valuable content; it will also help me to grow and maintain an audience. I intend to create an email list so that readers will be notified when I release a new blog post, book, video, or other content. I plan to sell my books on other online platforms such as Amazon and Etsy. Doing so will help me to reach an even wider audience. I plan to use my books to drive more traffic to my own website. Buyers who purchase my book on Amazon, Etsy, or other platforms will be made aware of my website while reading my book; my website of course will have more (and free) information for them to peruse. I plan to use other websites and social media platforms to drive traffic to my website and gain an even larger audience. I will provide free content on platforms such as YouTube and Instagram to grow my audience. I will use sites like Pinterest to drive traffic back to my website and my Etsy account; to do so, I will create a Pinterest account that is tailored to meet the needs of my target audience. I will take the same tailored approach with my Instagram and YouTube platforms. I will continue to do research on my target audience by reading reviews, sending out surveys, and reading competitors' reviews so that I can gain an understanding of what my audience wants and tailor my products to meet their needs. A target audience is a group of people with a shared problem or shared interest. I intend to figure out what those problem(s) and interests(s) are so that I can create the best products possible. I will educate myself continuously so that my business will thrive. I will continue to take courses and attend seminars by people who are skilled in areas where I am not, or who know things that I do not. I will apply what I learn to my business to make it better. Finally, I plan to branch out. Currently, I write nonfiction. However, I intend to branch out to related subjects. I also intend to provide products like planners and journals which are specifically tailored to people with certain learning and decision-making styles. I also intend to write my own fiction using what I know about the human psyche; readers who take interest in my fictional works will ultimately be directed to my nonfictional works and other products. Truthfully, I would like to have all of these plans implemented within the next eighteen months. The following three years will be an exercise in growth; for example, I will work to grow my website, my social media platforms, and my products' visibility on platforms like Amazon and Etsy. First, I have grit. I know how much work, planning, and time it will take for me to build my business. As you see in my business plan above, I have a plan for how I will steadily grow my business. I also have the grit to follow through on that plan. Additionally, I care about my consumers. I want to put out high-quality information and high-value products that will actually benefit my buyers. My work will be worth paying for and worth reading. My ultimate desire is to help people. I want people to learn how to use their learning styles and decision-making styles as leverage so that they can better their lives and relationships. This brings me to my final point. I have passion. Grit is important. Grit will get the job done and done well. But passion is what will carry me through the hard times, the occasional burnout, and the emotional setbacks. In short, I have grit and follow-through. I am passionate about what I do and I believe in my work. Finally, but most importantly, I care about and respect my customers; I want to provide them with high-value products and information worth their time and money.

Self Identified Competition
I have not seen many people who have built a business around cognition or cognitive functions. However, one business that comes to mind is the Personality Hacker business. They have a website and a podcast. Their focus is on personal growth and development. They enjoy doing field research and interviewing people with certain personality types. I am different from my competitors in several ways. First, my primary focus is on relationship dynamics. For example: how does your cognitive makeup influence how you relate and interact with others for better or for worse? What concrete actions can you take to improve your relationships while honoring your authenticity? Second, I am a writer. Personality Hacker puts much of their focus on their field research and podcast (which is fantastic). However, I am not interested in starting a podcast. I am interested in starting and maintaining a consistent blog. I am also interested in publishing a number of books, fiction and non-fiction; the three I have written are only the beginning. Finally, I intend to provide bookish, tangible tools that people can use in the form of journals and planners.
