Milk & Honey Coffee Co. | Application Preview
Milk & Honey Coffee Co. is seeking government grants to support its coffee shop and baked goods division. The funding will be allocated for essential equipment purchases, rent, building renovations, and future employee hires. The company aims to foster a community-oriented workplace where employees can form meaningful relationships.
The business plan includes expanding through a special events and catering division for weddings and corporate functions, as well as launching a mobile coffee and baked goods truck for pop-up events across the western state. This truck will not only enhance profitability but also boost marketing efforts, with plans to open additional locations for greater brand recognition.
The founders are committed to creating a welcoming environment for high school and college students, focusing on providing job opportunities that emphasize community building and personal development. They aim to offer leadership and entrepreneurial training, preparing young individuals for successful futures.
Milk & Honey Coffee Co. acknowledges competition from local businesses like Garden Route Coffee, Dirty Joe's, and Talia's Espresso. However, its competitive advantage lies in its mission to positively impact the community rather than solely pursuing profits. The owners bring valuable experience in youth leadership and education, ensuring a supportive environment for young employees as they grow both personally and professionally.

Business Plan
Our plan is to grow our business in several ways. One we want to offer a "special events" and catering division in our business that will allow us to do events such as weddings and business events. We also desire to build a coffee and baked goods truck that will allow us to do pop-up events all over the Western part of the state. The truck will provide an increase in profitability and marketing. We also will look to open other locations as we grow in an effort to develop a brand recognition in our area. Our goal is to create a positive place for high school and college students to work. My wife and I are passionate about teenagers and we desire for our business to be a place that local teenagers not only want to spend time in, but want to work at. We want our business and the employees to be more of a community than just a place for them to come get a paycheck. We hope to give them opportunities in leadership and entrepreneurial training that can hopefully set them up for successful careers as they go through these crucial years of their lives.

Self Identified Competition
Garden Route Coffee Dirty Joe's Talia's Espresso Our goal isn't just to become profitable. Our goal is to create an environment that genuinely makes a difference in our community through the nature of our business and the culture we create. My wife and I both have experience working with teenagers as youth leaders and I as a high school teacher. We know what to expect when we hire youth and we realize the effort that it will take. But this is part of our business plan and we intend to use our business to give back to the community of Yadkinville.
