Barrett’s Bundles of Blessings | Application Preview
Barrett's Bundles of Blessings is seeking government grants to support their initiative aimed at addressing the needs of families in Hitchcock. The funding will primarily be used to pay employee salaries and provide essential items like milk, food, diapers, and wet wipes for babies.
The business plan focuses on serving both new families moving into Hitchcock, due to ongoing residential developments, and long-standing residents. Events will be organized to offer parenting resources, affordable healthcare information, and community support.
The application stresses the urgent need for affordable daycare options, particularly for single mothers and low-income families, who often struggle to find reliable childcare. The applicant highlights a personal connection to the issue, noting how many have been unable to return to work post-pandemic due to childcare costs. There are currently no daycare facilities in Hitchcock, positioning this proposal as a much-needed service.

Business Plan
Hitchcock is had 3 major subdivisions being built so I plan to cater to the needs of the new families moving into the area as well as existing families who have been there for generations as my own. Hosting family and community events to provide information on parenting skills, affordable healthcare, etc I feel that there is a huge need for affordable daycare so that single mothers as well as low income households can maintain a job without the worry of finding someone to keep their children or having to leave their children home alone with older siblings. Many people have not returned to work after the pandemic simply because they can’t afford daycare. Since I have retired I have several relatives that have asked me to babysit their toddlers just because they can’t afford daycare therefore I know personally their is a huge need for a daycare in Hitchcock.

Self Identified Competition
I don’t have any competitors because Hitchcock doesn’t have any daycares. I grew up in Hitchcock and I would love to be able to give back my community. We we’re blessed to have businesses in our area when we grew up. Sadly at this present time we don’t even have a grocery store or daycare in Hitchcock. I would love to be able to provide a business that would allow working parents a place to drop off their children without having to drive to another city and also provide jobs to people who are in need of employment.
