Vancamps powder coating | Application Preview
Vancamps Powder Coating is seeking government grants to enhance its operations by purchasing essential equipment, including a new paint booth that meets environmental standards, an oven, a blaster, an air compressor, and cleaning tanks. Currently running as a sole proprietor, the business aims to expand by hiring local community members who are in need of work. This investment will improve the company's efficiency and increase its capacity to serve clients, especially several large companies that have expressed interest in future contracts contingent on the availability of the right equipment.
The business plan outlines four key steps:
1. Acquire the necessary new equipment.
2. Employ and train additional staff, including funding for certified training courses.
3. Implement a comprehensive advertising strategy over the next two years.
4. Secure ongoing contracts with the large companies already in contact.
The justification for funding highlights the owner’s extensive experience in the field and a commitment to providing valuable services in the community. With no direct competitors in the county, Vancamps Powder Coating has a unique position in the market. The owner, a U.S. Marine veteran, emphasizes the ability to serve smaller orders with a heightened focus on quality, which larger firms may overlook. Additionally, being located in Beaufort, SC, allows the business to offer employment opportunities to fellow veterans.

Funding Usage
To purchase a proper paint booth with filters that meet State DHEC environmental standards. I currently lack the ability to perform all functions of my business that would be required to operate at a rate that is profitable and beneficial to my clientele. I am currently the only employee and I would like to have funds to employ members of the community looking for work. I have several pieces of equipment that need to be replaced to improve my efficiency and effectiveness. I am the the only person that offers these services in the entire county and multiple large companies are willing to do business with me in the future if I can obtain the proper equipment.

Business Plan
1. Purchase new powder booth. Purchase new oven. New blaster. New air compressor. New cleaning tanks. 2. Hire more employees and provide proper training and pay for attendance at certified courses. 3. Advertise my services via multiple different outlets over the next 2 years. 4. Finalize contracts with the several large companies I’ve already established contact with to create consistent work flow. I have a fantastic service to offer the community and have worked in this field for over a decade. I have the technical knowledge and application but am lacking in start up funds that are very expensive for this sought after work. I have humble beginnings and am working very hard to accomplish the American Dream. I am the only one in the County that offers Power Coating on the materials that I do.

Self Identified Competition
There are no competitors is my local market. I served as a United States Marine from 2010-2015 and take great pride in being a US Vet. Being a smaller shop allows me to provide services for smaller orders that larger companies would turn away. I am also able to supervise and ensure a quality job on every item from start to finish, something that large company CEOs are not able to do. Being in a military town, Beaufort SC, enables me to offer jobs to other Veterans that are in need of employment.
