Frames n’ Things | Application Preview
Frames n’ Things is seeking government grants to fund new equipment and advertising, totaling approximately $17,000. The goal is to enhance the quality of products and services offered. The business plans to relocate to a larger building, which will also feature a daycare aimed at assisting local parents facing financial difficulties.
The owner emphasizes a strong commitment to the community, believing that everyone deserves access to opportunities and services. The aspiration is to create positive changes in the community while continuing a family business that has been operational for nearly 30 years. At just 18 years old, the owner is also preparing to start nursing school to help cover some expenses.
The primary competition identified is Amazon, which offers a wide range of products. However, the owner highlights a competitive advantage through personalized service and meaningful customer interactions that larger retailers cannot provide. This connection fosters comfort and trust, making the business stand out in the small-town market.

Funding Usage
I would like to get new equipment and that would require around $17,000 to upgrade I would like to do so to offer better quality service and products as well as new products and the rest I would like to use for advertisement.

Business Plan
I plan to relocate to a better location and offer new and more resources to my community in all the ways I can possibly do it. I would like to relocate to a larger building that I found and turn the upstairs into a daycare for younger children and help their parents who have financial issues that can’t afford to pay a lot for childcare. I believe I am a good person to invest in because I love everyone and think everyone should be able to have the opportunities, services and life they all deserve. I believe with a grant I can’t change my community for the better. I dream of opening my own daycare and continuing the family business that has been open for almost 30 years. I believe I change a lot of peoples lives, just need some help along the way. I am 18 years old and getting ready to start nursing school to pay for some the expenses along the way. I pray that the Lord will guide me to make the correct decisions!

Self Identified Competition
Honestly my only competition is Amazon because they offer everything that I offer and would like to offer. Sometimes their prices are better than mine, but I’m in small town and my costs are different than others. Because I offer something Amazon could never offer, personalization and customer contact. I talk with my customers and make things for them personally, emotionally grounded for them that they feel comfortable leaving with me to frame or engrave.
