D-Glass International 821271973 | Government Grant Application

D-Glass International | Application Preview

D-Glass International is seeking government grants to support several key initiatives aimed at enhancing the company's growth and sustainability. The total funding request is structured as follows:

1. **Credit Card Debt Repayment ($10,000)**: The company wishes to pay off high-interest credit card debt, currently at 20%, to redirect the interest payments back into business reinvestment.

2. **Merger Acquisition ($40,000)**: The funds will help acquire a complementary business with an existing team. This merger is expected to provide essential staffing and facilitate growth, enhancing the company's reputation in the market.

3. **Start-up Costs ($10,000)**: The merger will require additional inventory and training for new employees. This includes $5,000 for inventory and $5,000 allocated for two weeks of training for three new hires.

The business plan outlines a five-year strategy with specific objectives for each year. In the first year, the focus is on acquiring the target company, training new staff, and building a customer base primarily through marketing services. Years two and three involve expanding e-commerce operations and strengthening brand recognition, especially through platforms like Amazon. By years four and five, the plan emphasizes expanding service offerings in marketing while continuing to refine the company’s online presence.

The application expresses a personal narrative about the owner's current struggles despite being on a pathway to success. The owner explains that their commitment to facing challenges rather than giving up is a strong reason for potential investors, such as the government, to support their vision for a self-sustaining business.

In terms of competition, D-Glass faces several established players but believes its unique offering of integrated promotional services gives it an edge. Unlike competitors that only focus on website development, D-Glass provides holistic marketing solutions, including social media management and access to manufacturing for branded products, positioning itself as a versatile player in the market.

  • Funding Usage

Funding being requested is going into the following items below. Credit Card ($10k) - I need to pay off credit card debt with a high interest rate of 20%. It's taking a huge toll on my company right now and would love to take the money being paid in interest and reinvest it into the company. Merger ($40k) - There is a business with a functioning team that works in the same field. It would be a huge benefit to acquire this company because I really need the staff. It's a great opportunity to grow my business and become reputable owner. Start-up Cost (10k) - With the merger I would need to have more inventory on hands because of a different business model, so I would have about $5k in inventory and need about $5k to cover training 3 new employees for a 2 week time period.

  • Business Plan

Our main source of revenue was once selling online goods through Amazon and our own e-commerce website. Today, my main source of incoming is providing marketing services only to local companies, due the business being ran exclusively by myself. Below is a comprehensive 5 year plan to grow the company. (Year 1) - Acquire exisiting company to help alleviate the current demand. Increase number of customers being serviced through our marketing service. Train new employees, with an emphasis on sales people to increase customer base. We will continue to sell products through our website and Amazon, but won't focus on growing this sector until years 2&3 to make the transition more manageable. Focusing on one area first will establish a good base. (Year 2-3) - After building a customer base of roughly 20-25 regularly serviced accounts where we provide website management, and online ad management, the company will expand its own e-commerce presence, selling our own logos and name-brand products. In years 2-3, we will have to focus on hiring more creative design and product research employees in order to expand our brand recognition on all platforms, with a high focus on Amazon FBA program. (Years 4-5) - Continue to expand our Marketing Services offered to our clients to gain a greater market share. Examples of expanded services include App development, physical ad space (billboards, Bus stops, etc.) and radio ad space. We would expand our services by strengthening our business relationships with other companies. While growing our services offered, we would also continue to grow our own online presence by refining our good sold to keep up with current trends. I am miserable. .Let me explain. . . I am miserable because I am successful, but not successful enough. This isn't to give you some sob story, or make you feel pity, but rather explain why it means you should invest your time in a miserable man like me. I am miserable because I have no time for anything besides my clients and running the company. In any uncomfortable situation, such as being miserable, our primal human instinct of a "flight or fight" becomes triggered. In this instance I can take either "flight" and just drop it in order to improve my quality of life, or I can fight. You should invest in me because I choose to fight. I choose to face adversity and look into the eyes of that miserable man in the mirror and tell him to keep going. My plan is to build a self sustaining business, and I won't stop until I am no longer miserable. At some point in your career there must have been someone that took a chance on you, all I am asking for is a chance.
