Joyfull Communications 9306023 | Government Grant Application

Joyfull Communications | Application Preview

Joyfull Communications is seeking government grants to enhance its operations and reach its growth targets. The funding will be split evenly: half will go towards branding, design, and marketing to establish a new logo, website, and print materials, while the other half will be utilized for mentorship and coaching to support the business's expansion.

Over the next five years, the business plans to focus on providing writing and editing services to individual and small business clients. As demand grows, there are plans to hire additional writers to maintain service quality. There is also an intention to develop online marketing courses aimed at equipping small business owners with essential communication skills, along with publishing original writing in various media. Joyfull Communications has set a goal to achieve a 20% growth rate annually, targeting revenue growth from $90,000 in the first year to $188,000 by the fifth year.

The application emphasizes the applicant's commitment to uplifting others through effective communication and marketing. With two decades of experience assisting various organizations, the applicant is poised to make a more significant impact as a business owner.

Joyfull Communications identifies its main competitors as DIY small business owners, low-cost freelance writers, and online content mills. Its competitive advantage lies in offering personalized, high-quality services tailored to clients in health and wellness, arts, and education. The applicant underlines their dedication to understanding clients' needs and delivering unique, impactful content that fosters meaningful connections between businesses and their audiences.

  • Funding Usage

I plan to use half the funding to pay for branding, design and marketing services (new logo design, website, print materials). The other half of the funding I will use for a business coach / mentor to guide me as I grow the business.

  • Business Plan

I plan on growing my business over the next 5 years by helping more individual and small business clients with writing and editing services. As I expand my client base and reach capacity for my own time, I will provide jobs by hiring additional writers to assist me. I also plan on developing online marketing courses to help small business owners learn essential communications skills themselves and reach a broader audience. In addition, I will publish my own writing in journals, magazines as well as books. I plan to reach my minimum growth rate of 20% each year in order to help and reach more people. My revenue goal by the end of this first year is $90k, second year is $108k, third year is $130k, fourth year is $156k, fifth year is $188k. I am a purpose-driven writer who knows it is my dharma to express joy through communication in order to help others share their gifts with the world. I am a magnifier - through creative marketing, influential language and strategic guidance, I amplify the messaging of individuals and small businesses - for good. My top strengths from Gallup Strengthsfinder are: Achiever, Responsibility, Learner, Input and Harmony. I will achieve my business goals because they are aligned with who I am and what I do best. I have helped multiple small businesses, schools and non-profits develop and grow through targeted marketing efforts over my 20-year career in a variety of director and leadership roles, and it is now time for me to make an even bigger impact and help more businesses as a business owner myself. Investing in me and my business is investing in small businesses making a difference worldwide.

  • Self Identified Competition

My top 3 competitors are: 1. the small business owner or employee at a small business who thinks they can do it all themselves, but don't have the time, knowledge or skills to actually create valuable content that makes an immediate impact, 2. cheap freelance writers online who will deliver what clients pay for and do not provide high quality content or strategy, and 3. online content writing mills / services such as ContentWriters that offer package deals. I am different from my competitors because I offer personal, customized strategy, service and content creation that is of the highest quality. I also specialize in clients in health and wellness, the arts and education since these are areas of deep knowledge and passion for me. Unlike the small business owner who is trying to do it all herself and whose energy is scattered, I am focused on creating and optimizing content to help her reach her goals and will quickly provide what her business needs to tell the story that will make an impact and deliver results. Whereas the cheap freelance writers online will do work for nominal fees, they are often copying much of what they've written for others and do not put the time, energy and expertise into their work that I do. I charge the fees (which are average in the current marketplace) I do because I create unique content that creates profit for the business owner. As for online writing mills and services, I am different because I am an individual who cares about each of my clients, gets to know them and understand their values and goals, and strives to provide not just marketing services and content, but meaning and connection as well. Using words and collaborative communication, I build bridges between business owners and their customers, employees and partners.
