Business Plan
We will mail letters to businesses and individuals in Illinois to ask for support and contributions. We do expect to have a place on our website where contributors can donate funds to our organization. At the current time, we have not yet built our website. Personal solicitations will be focused on individuals and organizations which we have contacted through a letter or phone solicitation and received a positive response. We will then meet with the individual and discuss our services and mission and our fundraising goals. We will not have fundraising program designed specifically for acquiring vehicles, boats, planes or similar property. However, we will accept these donations as part of our other fundraising programs. We will make phone solicitations to individuals and organizations and ask for a meeting in which we can sit down and go over our mission as an organization and our fundraising goals. Fundraising from foundation and government grants. For obtaining grants, we will research the different types of grants that our organization qualifies for based on its mission. We will then write proposals for those grants we may qualify for. Any male or female receiving governmental assistance, living below the government poverty level, or who is homeless or lost his/her home to foreclosure will qualify to purchase our housing facilities. Those individuals will complete an application and be selected on first come, first serve basis. Our housing is affordable to low income individuals. Our homes are sold at a slightly higher price than the cost we incurred for the home, and therefore are still affordable to the low income. b. To keep the housing affordable to low income, we will keep our sales at approximately 20% above the cost to allow us cover our administrative expenses.

Self Identified Competition
Regional Housing Initiative United Way of Metro Chicago Valuing Affordability Program will provide affordable housing for the low income veterans in Cook County, IL area and later grow to other areas of Illinois. These individuals most likely lost their jobs and foreclosed on their homes, therefore they most often have no place to live. Our goal is to assist them and help them become productive citizens. Our main service is to provide these individuals with an affordable place to live. We will receive donated properties and expect to do approximately $65,000 of rehabilitation work on each home. We will fix the homes and get them into livable conditions for low income veterans, homeless populations, in lieu of becoming homeless, and their families. Our goal is to receive and repair 10 homes per year. We will then sell the homes to individuals (who obtain FHA financing) at a slightly higher price than the cost we incurred for the home. We will do so in order to offset some administrative cost of running the program but at the same time keep our homes at below market rate cost. The organization will purchase materials and supplies necessary to renovate the homes. We will also contract individuals to assist with remodeling homes. The organization will acquire a donated warehouse space where it will store donated supplies and construction materials. We will then use these materials when bringing homes into a livable condition. The program is to be funded through home sales, grants and contributions. Program is to be headed by the President of the organization. The organization will use a donated office space IL to conduct administrative activities.
