Saltwater Storage LLC | Application Preview
Saltwater Storage LLC is seeking government grants to fund the development of a new boat storage facility. The proposed use of the grant includes acquiring land, paving the lot, constructing awning structures, building an office, creating individual storage lockers for customers' boating gear, installing fencing, improving drainage systems, and potentially adding a boat washing reclaim system.
The business plan outlines a growth strategy that aims to reinvest profits from the first facility to establish a second location within five years, with a long-term goal of operating at least five facilities and exploring franchise opportunities.
The applicant emphasizes their qualifications, holding a BSBA in Business Administration with a focus on Organizational Management, along with certifications in project management and process improvement. With twelve years of management experience outside the military, the applicant demonstrates strong business acumen and leadership skills, reinforced by a commitment to the family's legacy in the business.
In terms of market competition, the applicant notes a single direct competitor with a full lot, highlighting a strong demand for boat storage in the area. The new facility aims to set itself apart by offering additional services, such as boat detailing and maintenance, along with convenient features like water hookups and 24/7 access through keypad entry. These advantages position the business to meet existing needs and capture market share.

Business Plan
My plans are to save most of the profits from the first storage facility and use that to build a second facility. Within the next 5 years I would like to have 3 facilities with the end goal of having at least 5 facilities and possibly franchising. I have a BSBA in Business Administration with a concentration in Organizational Management, Project Management Professional (PMP), and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. I have worked outside of the military for 12 years managing businesses and have a very strong business acumen. The military shaped me into a great leader and manager and I've always worked to out perform my peers. This business will be passed on to my children when I am ready to hang it up so there is no option for failure.

Self Identified Competition
In the area, there is only 1 direct competitor that has 1 lot that is always full. Boat storage is a huge issue in this area and easy to fill a lot up. There are other storage facilities that have minimal area for boats and RV's but none that would be able to directly compete with me. My facility will be different in that, I already have people lined up that want to do boat detailing at the lot. An individual can pay for the detailing and after they drop their boat off, we can take care of it. I will also have water hookups near all of the slips so customers can wash the saltwater off of their boats and flush engines which is a necessity with saltwater boats. The lot will be accessible 24/7 with a keypad code. I also have plans in the future to add a maintenance shop so we can do regular boat maintenance for customers when they drop off their boats.
