Puentes LLC | Application Preview
Puentes LLC is seeking government grant funding to enhance its marketing efforts as a content creator specializing in world language readers. The applicant recognizes the need for professional expertise in promoting their products and believes that increased visibility will expand their reach beyond their current niche market.
The business plan includes attending more conferences now that travel has resumed, to promote their books directly to educators, and establishing a stronger online presence through social media and email marketing. Collaborating with another authorpreneur to pool resources further strengthens their outreach strategy, targeting middle, high school, and potentially elementary and college-level audiences.
The applicant expresses a strong belief in the value of their work, producing stories in several languages that reflect diverse human experiences. They also engage students in the creative process and support charitable initiatives tied to their books. Financially, they have shown significant growth, increasing their revenue from $5,000 in the first year to $100,000 in 2022.
In a competitive landscape with other authorpreneurs in the world language space, Puentes LLC differentiates itself through its commitment to representation, diversity, and giving back to the community via professional development and book donations, all tied to their storytelling mission.

Funding Usage
As a content creator/authorpreneur, my expertise lies with creation and not with promotion. With grant funds (should I be so fortunate to receive any), I will enlist the help of a professional for marketing strategies and execution of such. Quite happily, while I have done well to be as successful as I have been in such a niche market, I do feel that my products would serve a much greater reach than that that I have established thus far - with an influx of expertise!

Business Plan
With travel having resumed following the pandemic slow down, I will be getting out to more and more conferences to let teachers know of my books and materials in person. Also, I will look to create a larger presence on social media and via email campaigns (once I figure out how!). I have already partnered with another authorpreneur combining our libraries of books. Right now our target audiences are middle- and high school teachers and their students, but we know there is also a market at the elementary and college level. At the risk of sounding completely hokey: I believe in myself and the books I write. The stories I tell in comprehensible language (in Spanish, French, German, Italian and English) are stories representative of different peoples in different regions - all of whom experience similar human emotions. Furthermore, I have made it my mission to not only involve students in the entirety of my process (editing/illustrations), I have attached the profits of some of the books to different charities whose issues are highlighted in the stories. For the nuts and bolts, though, in under five years I have gone from earning a mere $5K my first year to $100K for 2022.

Self Identified Competition
Other authorpreneurs of comprehensible world language readers. There are a number of them. My financial goals are tied to my ability to give back: via professional development, in-kind contributions of books, as well as outright donations. My focus is storytelling, representation, diversity and allowing students to learn through stories.
