KC Counseling LLC 844460030 | Government Grant Application

KC Counseling LLC | Application Preview

KC Counseling LLC is seeking government grants to expand its free Eating Disorder outreach and awareness presentations in local schools. The funding will be used to pay staff for their outreach work, clinical care, and pro-bono group facilitation, as well as to enhance awareness of eating disorders and available resources in public and private schools.

The organization aims to offer skill-building and psychotherapy groups for individuals struggling with eating disorders, provide in-home dietitian services for families, and implement programs to support those facing food insecurity during their recovery. Additionally, they plan to deliver clinical care at no cost to patients.

The estimated budget includes $46,400 for payroll, $1,500 for mileage reimbursement, $25,000 for outreach supplies, and $20,000 in scholarships for patient care.

In the next five years, KC Counseling plans to move to a larger office and strengthen relationships with local school professionals to facilitate their outreach efforts. They also intend to involve their team with the Champaign County Mental Health Board to increase visibility for their services and may hire more clinicians as needed.

KC Counseling emphasizes its dedication as Eating Disorder Specialists and highlights its growth from one to nine employees in three years. They are the preferred clinic for numerous referrals in the community, responding to the urgent need for accessible treatment for eating disorders, especially among low-income and minority groups.

The organization distinguishes itself from competitors by specializing solely in eating disorders, accepting Medicaid, and providing reduced or free services. They prioritize a supportive, family-like atmosphere while maintaining a multidisciplinary team that collaborates to provide comprehensive care.

  • Business Plan

In the next 5 years, we will be moving to a larger office space. We will also actively build and maintain relationships with local school social workers and psychologists who support the work that we do and will allow us to present to their students. We plan to have a member of the KC Counseling team volunteer for the Champaign County Mental Health Board to increase exposure to the work that we do. If warranted, we will hire more clinicians. Investors should invest in us because we are Eating Disorder Specialists who are beyond passionate about the work that we do. We have expanded our team and revenue from 1 to 9 total employees in the last 3 years. We have become the top clinic that physicians, teachers, colleagues, and other professionals refer to for eating disorder treatment. Eating disorders have the second highest mortality rate of all psychiatric disorders. The treatment options are limited, and often inaccessible to those in with low-income and racial minorities. We want to make Eating Disorder treatment equitable.

  • Self Identified Competition

Ascend CHC Champaign Counseling Elliot Counseling We are very different from our competitors for several reasons. First and foremost, we have identified one area of specialization and perfected our approach to this specific area of mental health, rather than trying to treat all referrals. Second, we accept Medicaid and offer reduced and free services to the community. We believe that we are social workers first, and business owners second. Third, we have intentionally kept our practice small so employees and clients feel they are seen, heard, and cared for. Although we have grown to meet the needs or our patients, we want to maintain that family-like feeling of closeness between staff and the communities we serve. And lastly, we are a multidisciplinary team of professionals. Our team has both LCSWs and RDs to collaborate and effectively treat the clients and patients we see.
