TCI Broadband LLC | Application Preview
TCI Broadband LLC is seeking government grants to support its growth and operational expenses over the next nine months. The funding will help cover costs while the company expands its service offerings, particularly in residential and small business IT support in Utah. The plan includes increasing the number of jobs taken from Wachter from six to at least twenty per week and hiring additional technicians, boosting the workforce from three to five.
To establish a local presence, TCI Broadband intends to hire three sales representatives to promote its services and initiate an advertising campaign to attract small business and residential customers. The decision to pursue this market stemmed from the increased demand for IT support, particularly after many people began working from home during the pandemic. TCI Broadband aims to address the gap in IT support availability for home workers, offering a more local and cost-effective alternative to larger corporations like Best Buy's Geek Squad. The company's personalized service approach positions it favorably against competitors, focusing on building strong relationships with customers.

This amount will cover 9 months of my expenses. This will allow me to pay my expenses as I grow my business and continue to increase the amount of work I am doing for Wachter, as well as start doing residential and small business accounts here in Utah. I will also be using the funds to increase the amount of technicians I have from three to five and pay their wages.

Business Plan
I am going to be increasing the amount of jobs I take from Wachter from six a week to doing at least twenty a week. I am also going to start building my local business, by marketing my services to small businesses and residential customers needing IT support. I intend to hire at least three sales representatives to go out and market our services to the small business in Utah. I am going to start an advertising campaign to let people know that we are open for business to help them with their IT needs. After so many people started working from home during the pandemic I saw how the need for IT support for the home worker and small business was a market that had not really been tapped much. Big corporations have their own IT support departments to help their in-house staff when a problem arises. But the home worker has a harder time getting the support they need. That is hat gave me the idea to start this company. I learned about Wachter a year ago and was notified that they did not have a contractor in the state of Utah, so they were sending in techs from out of state. I found this contractor to be a good option for me because I can give them a in-state contractor, which is more price effective for them and beneficial for me. This contract has also given me the chance to be exposed to jobs that I was not as familiar with from my previous work in the IT setting in hospitals and for Comcast. I am now learning about other areas that I can use in my local work as well. With the help from investors I will be able to build my business and reach more people who have not had the help they needed.

Self Identified Competition
The only other competitor I have come across is Best Buys Geek Squad. Unlike Geek Squad we are not managed by a corporation, so we are a more personal with our customers. Leaving them feeling like they are not just another face in a crowd of customers. Also we are less pricey than Geek Squad, which is better for the residential customer who may not have a lot of money to pay for repairs and installations.
