ELDT Academy, LLC L23000106558 | Government Grant Application

ELDT Academy, LLC | Application Preview

ELDT Academy, LLC is seeking government grants to help fund its growth and operational expenses. The requested funding of $16,000 will cover two months of salaries for key personnel, allowing them to focus on business development. In addition, over the next six months, the academy anticipates expenses including $6,000 for marketing efforts, $12,000 for software subscriptions, $3,500 for travel and fuel, and $12,500 for training supplies and safety equipment.

The business aims to expand its client base by leveraging personal contacts and marketing tactics, projecting a monthly gross revenue of at least $19,000 by training two high-end and four mid- to low-end clients, each with at least two students. To support this growth, ELDT Academy plans to add certified instructors as needed and pursue opening a Third Party Testing Facility in Polk County to create an additional revenue stream, in compliance with FMCSA regulations.

ELDT Academy's leadership brings extensive experience to the table—Jason Grammes has over 20 years as a CDL instructor, with important certifications and a focus on producing well-trained drivers. Laura Engelhardt offers 20 years of administrative experience in the CDL training field, ensuring adherence to licensing and compliance requirements.

In terms of competition, ELDT Academy differentiates itself as a Contract Training Provider, operating without a physical facility and offering customized training at client locations. Its unique approach caters to the specific needs of each client and emphasizes the importance of safety and thorough understanding for students, setting it apart from traditional CDL training schools that may not maintain the same standards for instructor qualifications.

  • Business Plan

Through personal contacts made via various marketing efforts, we anticipate growing our client base to at least two high end customers with at least 2 students, and four mid to low end customers each month with at least 2 students. This would produce monthly gross revenue for the business at a minimum of $19,000. However, we anticipate meeting our 4:1 student to instructor ratio for each class of training provided resulting in greater revenue. With an increase of clientele, our need for certified instructors increases as well. We have a network of certified instructors that are ready to begin training once we reach the threshold of more than one client being trained at a time. Additionally, once we have established ourselves in our niche training market, we intend to pursue opening a Third Party Testing Facility in Polk County. This is a revenue source of its own since training fees cannot be intermingled with testing fees as per Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. We have a certified Third Party Tester available to contract with us for the performance of the state regulated CDL tests once we have secured a proper testing facility and established it as such with the State of Florida through all necessary permitting and licensing channels. Principal Jason Grammes has over 20 years experience as a CDL Instructor and Class A CDL license holder. He has the experience of over the road driving that is necessary to relay to any student of this specialized training and is certified by both the Dept. of Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) and the FMCSA. Our company is also a registered and approved training provider in the FMCSA's Training Provider Registry. As an instructor, he looks forward to helping individuals reach their personal goals and aspirations of career advancement, along with working with the corporate and company clientele to acquire and retain quality employees who are safe and responsible in their job duty as a truck driver. Principal Laura Engelhardt has over 20 years as an Executive Administrator, even being heavily involved in the previous sale and purchase of an already established CDL training facility. She is well-versed in business licensing and all departmental and agency compliance which is a highly scrutinized matter in the CDL training industry.

  • Self Identified Competition

Our top competitors would be the traditional brick and mortar CDL training facilities. However, being a solely Contract Training school, ELDT Academy has no direct competition. We do not have our own facility, we simply provide knowledgeable and certified Instructors. This is our product. While FleetForce Truck Driving School, Roadmaster Driving School, and CareerTech, LLC provide similar training, we provide our training at our client's facilities, utilizing their vehicles, and providing a much more personalized training experience. Our competitors do not. As previously stated, we are strictly Contract Training Providers. We customize our training program to each client's needs and focus on the student's proficiency of the training materials. Furthermore, we require that each of our instructors is certified as a Commercial Driving Instructor as required by the State of Florida. Many of the brick and mortar schools do not adhere to this law and utilize instructors who are not certified, and many times not qualified based on FLHSMV and FMCSA regulations. Unlike other CDL training facilities, we do not aspire simply to have a student pass the CDL exam. We train our students to learn not just what they need to know, but what they should know in order to be safe and responsible truck drivers.
