LP World Travel 05824840 (I think this is it - it's my IATA#) | Government Grant Application

LP World Travel | Application Preview

LP World Travel is seeking government grants to support its operations and marketing efforts, aiming to attract more clients. The funding will be used to cover costs such as social media posts to promote the business and ongoing expenses for insurance, training, and licensing. Despite earning just over $6,000 in the past 14 months, the owner is determined to expand the business and make it a full-time venture.

The business plan involves continuous promotion through social media and community engagement, with hopes that satisfied clients will refer new customers. The owner believes that with a yearly sales target of $1,000,000, increased visibility is crucial for reaching clients beyond Connecticut. Past experiences show that paid posts on social media have successfully generated leads and referrals.

Competition comes primarily from large online travel platforms like Orbitz and Expedia, which pose challenges in convincing customers of the benefits a travel agent offers in terms of personalized service. The owner’s unique selling point includes extensive personal travel experience and a strong educational background, enabling them to provide tailored services such as private transport and luxury accommodations. Passion for travel plays a significant role in client interactions, enhancing the customer experience.

  • Funding Usage

This would help me cover my yearly costs of boosting posts for the purpose of gaining clientele, as well as helping to cover the monthly expenses for insurance, training and the license. Having only made just over $6,000 in the last 14 months with my travel agency, this would help cover the cost that it takes to gain clients.

  • Business Plan

I plan to continue to try to get my name out there by doing all of the things I'm currently doing. I have had a successful first year, and I hope that past clients will help spread my name so I can do this full time, which isn't possible at this point. It is essential to continue, on a daily basis, to post on social media and attend as many functions as I can in surrounding towns to get my name out there. I am excited to see where this could take me. I am very motivated to succeed in this business. I probably need to sell $1,000,000 in travel a year for my business to survive as a full time venture, so it's important for me to be able to have money in order to spread my name and reach more clients living outside of Connecticut. I have a handful of clients from Florida right now that came from a post I paid for and in turn one client booked with me and then spread my name to her friends. That's how successful the boosted posts can be on social media.

  • Self Identified Competition

I think my top 3 competitors are Orbitz, Expedia, and really any other online booking platform for travel. It's hard to get people to understand that they are paying commission in those prices that just go back to the company they are booking with - yet they are not receiving the service of a travel agent. People are so used to booking their own travel that it's difficult to convince people that they need a travel agent. That's my biggest roadblock. I have personal experience with traveling all over the world, is the first reason. It's important to know the areas your clients want to go. I have booked trips that include private car service, private boat hires, making dinner and spa reservations, etc. I also have my 6th year degree so I'm very educated and detail oriented, which definitely helps when booking luxury travel for my clients. Travel is my passion and that comes through when I am planning vacations for my clients.
