Cottage Peddler | Application Preview
Cottage Peddler is seeking government grants to enhance their business by planning local events, attracting customers from neighboring areas, and expanding vendor locations to feature more products, such as furniture, clothing, and local produce. The funding would also be used to renovate the brick patio, addressing current hazards like uneven surfaces, and to rent out space to a nearby coffee shop to increase foot traffic. Additionally, they plan to remodel part of the building for jazz nights and salsa dancing events, leveraging the owner's musical background.
The business model focuses on creating a community hub that supports local vendors, including artists and farmers, promoting homemade items and local entrepreneurship. This initiative aims to boost the local economy and foster community well-being, particularly in an area where such support is diminishing.
Cottage Peddler highlights minimal competition in Metamora Square, IL, suggesting that their unique offerings and events can thrive in this environment. The business believes its commitment to community building and support for local vendors sets it apart, reinforcing the importance of local economies and community health.

Funding Usage
We would use the funding to help plan local events while attracting new customers from surrounding cities and expand the locations for vendors to bring more furnitures, clothing items, local honey makers, farmers to add to the items already existing in the stores. We also would refill the brick patio with landscaping for the customers and rent the patio locations to the coffee shop across to attract more customers. As of now, the patio is sinking and uneven surfaces which is a hazard for the customers to walk. We would remodel the second of the building to start promoting Jazz nights and with music and salsa dancing.

Business Plan
Expanding the locations to harbor more vendors. Getting quality furniture, clothing items and local farmers items to sell in the communities and also adding a coffee locations inside of the store as well. Converting the upstairs for jazz event as I’m a musician. I believe that building communities is crucial the development and well being of our society. Our business is aimed at supporting local vendors, which rangers from artists to farmers and builders. We see a decline in homemade items and support of local businesses. A model of operating as such can contribute to the economic and health and medical health of our communities. I believe community is essential and keeping businesses which encourages local vendors to produce and create more.
