Diamond A Ranch Services & Solutions 801779156 | Government Grant Application

Diamond A Ranch Services & Solutions | Application Preview

Diamond A Ranch Services & Solutions is applying for government grants to acquire a new Subsoiling/Milling machine, essential for constructing roadways in rocky terrains. These machines help agricultural producers travel more efficiently and safely through pastures, reducing costs compared to traditional road construction methods. The current machine has become outdated, leading to increased breakdowns and repair expenses, with replacement costs estimated between $190,000 and $250,000 for the attachment alone.

This machine serves various purposes, including creating fire breaks to prevent soil erosion, mulching, soil conditioning, and stump grinding. By effectively tilling and mulching up to 10 feet deep, it reduces the regrowth of invasive species like Mesquite and Junipers in the area.

Over the next five years, the business aims to employ 10-15 skilled operators who share their conservation-focused philosophy, alongside the necessary machinery to support agricultural producers.

The company's strong commitment to delivering high-quality services, developing eco-friendly practices, and promoting prescribed fire management distinguishes it from competitors. Currently, they are the only local service provider with a subsoiling machine, while others rely on traditional clearing methods. Their dedication to customer needs and land stewardship enhances their competitive edge and underscores the importance of funding approval for renewed equipment and continued service enhancement.

  • Funding Usage

We are in need of new Subsoiling/Milling machine. We currently have one that we use to construct roadways in rock terrain by using the natural in place rock to create a drivable surface for vehicles. This is very beneficial for Ag producers allowing them to travel there pastures quicker and safer with less cost than traditional road construction practices. We also use these machines to create tillable soil in rocky terrain by crushing the rock up to 10" below the surface of the ground, this produces a mineral rich environment for natural grasses to grow. Our current machine is a older machine, it is becoming inefficient to operate due to breakdowns and repair cost. A replacement to this machine will range from $190,000 to $250,000 just for the attachment itself that does not include the tractor that powers it. We strive to enhance natures beauty in many ways with this machine all while increasing the usability of the land for the producer. Other uses of this machine: - Fire breaks: We are able to mulch vegetation and mix it into the soil to decrease erosion of soils - Mulching - Soil Conditioning - stump grinding: We have found that with the ability to till/mulch 10" deep, has drastically decreased the likelihood of regrowth of the invasive Mesquite, and Junipers in our area

  • Business Plan

Our goal in the next 5 years is to have 10-15 highly skilled operators with the same conservation-based mindset as we do. Along with the machines necessary to complete the needs of these Agricultural producers. There are many other service companies like ours, however we take pride in the products we deliver as well as strive to create better more cost-effective practices to meet the needs of our customers. The ever-growing fight against woody plant encroachment is very important to us and we strive to develop more cost effective and environmentally friendly practices. We are also very strong believers in Prescribed Fire and its benefits vs mechanical and chemical practices. Personally, I am dedicated to educating and implementing the use of fire and its benefits it produces. Being in the Volunteer fire service for over 10 years as well as holding a CIPBM certification for 2+ years. We volunteer our time and equipment to help contain wildfires every year.

  • Self Identified Competition

Currently in our area we are the only service provider with a subsoil machine. Our competitor's only offer traditional methods for clearing and construction. As described above we are dedicated to what we do and why we do it, by striving to fulfill the needs of our customers with practices that are beneficial to the land and the producer.
