Families Uniting Naturally | Application Preview
Families Uniting Naturally is seeking government grant funding to launch a consulting business aimed at supporting Family Childcare Providers. The funding will be allocated for several key areas: establishing the consulting work, covering financial obligations, purchasing small supplies for providers, creating stipends for providers who can participate in training sessions, and leasing a car for work-related travel.
The business plan envisions significant growth by 2028, focusing on enhancing connections between childcare providers, families, and the children they care for in Randolph. The approach involves helping providers recognize their own needs and strengths, which will ultimately foster stronger relationships and development opportunities for children.
The applicant brings substantial experience to the table, having worked as a teacher and transitioned into a Student and Family Engagement Coordinator position in Boston Public Schools. This role allowed the applicant to collaborate closely with families and enhance support for children facing challenges. The ambition is to establish Families Uniting Naturally as a community resource, with a particular focus on the underserved area of Randolph.
While there are existing programs in Boston, including ABCD and Catholic Charities, Randolph currently lacks a structured community initiative like this. The unique aspect of this proposal lies in its holistic approach, prioritizing the development of providers, families, and children, making it stand out in the local landscape.

Business Plan
From start-up to 2028, I plan on sharing my expertise and guidance through consulting with Family Childcare Providers and their families helping them to build strong bonds with the children in their care. To do that I will help the individuals to identify their own needs and strengths so that they can better provide for the children of Randolph. By 2028 I see providers and families working in tandem to create strong bonds and avenues for children to excel. In 2011 I began my work in the Boston Public Schools as a Teacher. I Graduated from Wheelock College with my Masters in Early Education. I tought in the classroom for 4 years then transistioned into the Student and Family Engagement Coordinator position. A position the principal allowed me to craft along with the Parent Council. This was a great opportunity to turn my focus to helping families while still supporting our most challenging children in the school. My heart as always been to help build strong families. My goal is to build this opportunity to ultimately start my own business called Families Uniting Naturally (The F.U.N. House). My current work counseling providers and their families will be stepping stones to reach my ultimate goal.

Self Identified Competition
Currently, I want to do my work in Randolph and the surrounding communities. From my limited outreach and research, Boston has programs like Action for Boston Community and Development (ABCD), Family Child Care Services (part of Catholic Charities Boston), and Project Hope Family Childcare. However, Randolph does not have an organized community program or entity to rely on. I hope to cultivate a safe engaging opportunity for providers to come together and learn what that means for them here on the outside of Boston. What makes me different is that I am committed to the growth support and development of not just the provider but the families and children they serve.
