Mountain Attitude Designs | Application Preview
Mountain Attitude Designs is applying for government grants to support its marketing initiatives and operational needs. The funding will help bring to life various creative ideas, including a seasonal deer illustration tied to the brand and a marketing campaign with the slogan "Got Attitude?" The business also plans to develop pallet signage featuring catchy phrases that resonate with its clientele.
The owner expresses a deep passion for preserving the brand and its mission, having trademarked the name and logo early in the business journey despite challenges. With limited staffing and long hours worked, the owner aims to utilize grant funds to hire a social media manager to enhance marketing efforts.
The business plan focuses on improving marketing skills, enhancing the online store, and developing consistent campaigns. The owner shares a personal story about almost closing the store but staying motivated due to customer support, highlighting a commitment to providing quality fashion accessories to an economically challenged area at accessible prices.
In terms of competition, Mountain Attitude Designs recognizes local rivals but believes its unique offering of hand-selected products, along with exceptional customer service, gives it a competitive edge. The owner emphasizes that the goal is to foster relationships with customers rather than merely focus on sales.

Funding Usage
Since the day I created my logo, I also created a marketing idea where I would use a deer illustration that I have selected wherein I could decorate with fashion accessories according to the seasons or holidays. I also wanted to run a marketing champaign to say "Got Attitude?" using the same deer illustration. Another idea I had for my logo was to create pallet signage with various sayings such as "Mountain Attitude is..... Not Knowing What Day It Is and Not Caring." I have so many ideas I want to bring to life, however, I'm already working approximately 120 hours a week with little to no staff and with our recent move into our larger space, I'm limited to even reordering products. I would bring my ideas I've had since day one to life! I was so passionate about these ideas that I trademarked my name and logo the first year I was in business because I have held onto my dream. I've worked so hard and wanted to give up so many times but how can you give up on something that continues to be successful? Along with creating the marketing campaign, I would utilize these funds to hire a social media manager to maximize my marketing campaign.

Business Plan
Continue to advance my skills in marketing/advertising. Enhance our on-line store. Improve our conversion ratio. Continue to develop consistent marketing campaigns. I'M NOT GIVING UP! After working 120 hours a week for the past year (I'm really not kidding), I almost closed my store December 31, 2022. When doing the build-out for the new store and we had the Kraft paper on the front windows, I had gone outside to do something and one of our customers saw me. She couldn't get her window down fast enough at the stop light so she opened her car door and screamed "THANK GOD YOU DIDN'T CLOSE! I JUST WOULDN'T KNOW WHERE ELSE TO SHOP!" That made all the difference. In my corporate life, I traveled extensively. Including visiting my corporate office in Brentwood, California where I had an opportunity to shop once on Rodeo Drive. It was just once as my husband retired from the US Navy and between my pay at the time and his military pension, we couldn't afford more than 1 special purchase. But it meant the world to me. Therefore, my whole mission was and is to continue to provide quality fashion accessories to an economically challenged region at a price they can afford. My motto is "Every woman should be given the opportunity to feel like a million dollars without having to spend it."

Self Identified Competition
Mustang Sally Talent Drug Store (Drug Store & Boutique) Owl's Nest When Mountain Attitude Designs™ first opened, I had no prior experience in retail and literally had no idea about sales representatives for brands or having exclusive contracts. I simply went hunting for what I thought our customers would like. To this day, Mountain Attitude Designs continues to have an eclectic array of hand selected and hand crafted jewelry, handbags, fashion accessories, mountain apparel and gifts. We also pride ourselves on astonishing our customers with superior customer service. As we like to say, we are there to just sell you something. We'd like to think we are making new friends.
