Run Amuck Studios Inc. | Application Preview
Run Amuck Studios Inc. is seeking government grant funding to support its upcoming events and launch a non-profit branch focused on community outreach. The company aims to educate and provide artistic resources to underrepresented communities, particularly through theatre workshops in local schools and performances at family events funded by the city.
The business plan spans five years. In the first year, it plans to host four ticketed events annually at the Pico Theatre in Los Angeles, featuring at least two live shows each time. Year two will introduce outreach initiatives without compromising the ongoing events. By year three, Run Amuck Studios intends to branch into private events while maintaining its outreach efforts. Year four will see the company exploring traveling events beyond the Greater Los Angeles area, eventually expanding into international events by year five.
The founders, three driven women with over 40 years of combined experience in the performing arts, highlight their unique commitment to the theatrical arts and community engagement. They share a vision to create a theatre company that caters to audiences of all ages, offering diverse performances, including immersive children's shows and adult-themed cabarets. They also plan to connect with underrepresented communities through outreach programs.
While the company faces competition from others, including Wisteria Theatre Company, it differentiates itself by targeting a broad audience and emphasizing family-inclusive entertainment. The founders believe their passion and dedication make them well-positioned to succeed with the support of investors. With grant funding, they hope to transition their artistic vision into a sustainable full-time business.

Funding Usage
With this funding, we can fund the next events we have in mind for our Los Angeles audiences. We can also launch the non-profit branch of our company and being our outreach to local schools and family centers in the community. Our vision for the company isn't just to perform events for profit, but we also want to provide education and artistic resources to underrepresented communities. Eventually, we want to offer local schools theatre workshops, we'd like to perform short performances for schools during school hours, and, perform at family events funded by the city.

Business Plan
Our 5 year plan is projected and planned as so: Year 1 - provide paying audiences at least 4 ticketed-events a year, including at least 2 different live shows during these events. The theatre willing to house us for these events is the Pico, located at 10508 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA. We are in good standing with the owner of the theatre and with the sucess of our debut productions, she would be willing to negotiate more events a year for us. Year 2 - begin outreach to local schools and community centers to begin the non-profit sector. All this while also providing the 4 ticketed-events at our home theatre, the Pico. Year 3 - begin providing private events, such as birthday parties and other parties, located in audiences private residences or rented spaces outside of our home theatre, the Pico. All the while, continuing with our outreach program as well as our regular ticketed-events at our home theatre, the Pico. Year 4 - begin looking into traveling events. We will extend our outreach programs outside of the Greater Los Angeles Area and consider traveling up the California coast, and possibly even beyond state lines. All the while, continuing with our other programs and events. Year 5 - begin looking into traveling events outside of the United States. Some of our founders, including myself, have contacts across seas, and would love to bring some of our programs, like our outreach and some of our liver performances, to students and audiences in other countries. Investors should invest in Run Amuck Entertainment, aka Run Amuck Studios Inc. because we are three driven women, 2/3 of us are minority women of color, and we are passionate about the theatrical arts. Between the three of us, we have over 40 years of professional experience in the performing arts, and don't know of any other theatre company that provides what we invision for ourselves. The three of us met doing children's theatre years ago in a company that unfortunately had to close its doors in 2019. Since then, we've been dreaming of what our company could look like and in 2020 we started meeting regularly and planning what a future theatre company run by the three of us would look like. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our plans were put on hold until this year, 2023. Now we are ready, we are starving artistically, and we want this so bad! We've invested so much of our own time and money into this creation of ours, which is so much more than a passion project. We eventually would love this business to become our full time jobs, and with an investor's help, that could happen sooner than later.

Self Identified Competition
We don't have any competitors really, but we will say that several other members of our old theatre company have gone out and started their own companies. One company has a year and a half of expereince on top of us, Wisteria Theatre Company. Wisteria is run by someone we used to perform with and go to birthday parties with, and her company has a similar business model, though ours still stands out a little differently. What makes our business stand out and different from Wisteria, and other theatre companies in general, is our audience. We want to cater to all ages, not jsut children, but adults as well. This is why our current event has 2 productions, one for young children and one that is for 18 and over audiences. The children's show is an hour long immersive performance where actors will be singing and dancing as superheroes and princesses, encouraging the children to join the actors on stage in dance parties and singing. The adult's show will be a Speakeasy themed cabaret, with a hired, fully liscenced bartender who will be checking IDs. In the future, we plan to do shows catered to teens and young adults as well. So we really will be a company for the entire family and childless adults alike. We also plan on the outreach portion, connecting back to our underrepresented schools and communities, as well as private events. We are going to be the whole package!
