Fashion Geek Clothing Company LLC 92-3490005 | Government Grant Application

Fashion Geek Clothing Company LLC | Application Preview

Fashion Geek Clothing Company LLC is seeking government grants to fund the provision of basketball uniforms for ten Chicago Public High Schools. Founded by Alonzo Jackson, the company is popular among youth, especially after he donated uniforms to his alma mater, Leo High School, two years ago. The positive reception from that initiative has inspired Fashion Geek to extend similar support to the Chicago Public School (CPS) system, which currently has outdated and low-quality uniforms.

The grant money would kickstart the project, allowing the company to produce uniforms for the selected high schools. Additionally, they plan to offer more jerseys at wholesale prices, enabling schools to sell them to students and alumni, generating funds for various needs. The initiative aims to create a positive impact, encouraging more schools to participate.

In terms of business growth, Fashion Geek plans to expand into new markets both domestically and internationally, with upcoming collaborations, including one with Paper Planes, a brand partly owned by Jay-Z. This partnership aims to broaden their reach and enhance sales.

The request for funding focuses on supporting underprivileged high school athletes in Chicago, promoting positive change in a city facing challenges like violence and negativity. Fashion Geek believes that their approach can help generate additional income for CPS schools, reducing reliance on taxes and government aid. While there are competitors in the fashion market, Fashion Geek distinguishes itself with superior designs and the influential presence of its founder, Alonzo Jackson.

  • Funding Usage

To provide basketball uniforms for 10 Chicago Public High Schools. Fashion Geek is a very popular apparel brand based in Chicago, IL. 2 years ago our Founder, Alonzo Jackson, produced and donated brand new basketball uniforms (home & away) for his high school alma mater Leo High School. The kids absolutely loved them as Fashion Geek is a very popular brand with the youth. You can find more information on this by googling “Alonzo Jackson donates uniforms to Leo High School.” This was featured in the Chicago Sun Times and there is also a video on YouTube. We have a vision of providing quality uniforms to the Chicago Public School System very similar to what Alonzo did with Leo High School because to hones the CPS uniforms are very old and of very bad quality. We believe in the saying made popular from NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders were he stated, “When you look good, you feel good. When you feel good, you play good. And when you play good, they pay good!” We want the kids to look good and feel good because they deserve it! Unfortunately we don’t have the capital to donate uniforms for all of these schools that so badly could use them and this is where we would use the grant money. We would use the grant money to get the ball rolling and start off making uniforms for 10 CPS high schools. We would then make additional jerseys available to those high schools at a wholesale price so those schools can sell to their facility, students, and alumni at a profit to each school that they can use for other needs at the school. We believe this would have a snowball effect and more and more CPS schools would like to get involved with this program.

  • Business Plan

We plan on growing our business by continuing on the path that we are already on and getting into more markets not just in the United States but globally. We have a couple of upcoming collaborations with some other popular clothing brands and clothing stores that will help us get into those markets. One in particular is a collaboration with the fashion apparel company Paper Planes owned in part by hip hop mogul Jay-Z that will be dropping in December 2023. This collaboration will get us in markets that we have not yet reached and our plans is for our Sale Rep to build off of this opportunity and capitalize on it. We are asking for this grant specially for the underprivileged high school athletes in the Chicago Public School system. With all of the negativity and violence that has plagued our beloved city. Investors can feel good about playing apart in such a groundbreaking plan and strategy that will help the CPS be able to create passion income from the sales of these jersey and not just really on taxes from the citizens of Chicago and government subsidies.
