PINKSLAYER COMMUNITY OUTREACH | Application Preview
The PINKSLAYER COMMUNITY OUTREACH is seeking government grants to fund software for the accreditation process as part of their business plan to expand medical supplies for veterans in need of limb prosthesis. The founder, a disabled veteran and cancer survivor, recognized a significant gap in services for veterans, particularly regarding mastectomy and ostomy supplies, leading to the establishment of this initiative. The organization highlights a lack of competition in Virginia, specifically regarding breast and colon cancer medical supplies, and emphasizes their unique offerings, which include counseling and patient navigation for those affected by cancer. PINKSLAYER COMMUNITY OUTREACH distinguishes itself by providing specialized care and education about early detection, fostering community trust through an annual health festival where medical professionals engage with at-risk groups. This funding is crucial to enhance their capabilities and support the well-being of veterans facing serious health challenges.

Business Plan
I plan to expand to more medical supplies for veterans who need limb prosthesis. I am not only a disabled veteran, but also a cancer survivor who saw a need for a mastectomy and Ostomy boutique in my home town. When I was diagnosed no one accepted VA payments and I felt devalued. I finally found a place 2 hours away and they helped me tremendously. I want veterans to have a safe place when going through serious life threatening medical problems.

Self Identified Competition
I don’t have any competition in the state of Virginia. No one focuses on Breast and colon cancer medical supplies. We also have counseling, and patient navigation for all who are affected by cancer. We are different because we provide specialty care for families affected by cancer. We specialize in making sure our clients understand their diagnosis and help them figure out their new normal. We are a nonprofit organization that educate the community about the importance of early detection. We also have a health festival annually when the medical community comes out to provide routine medical assistance. The goal is to help build trust between medical professionals and the at risk communities.
