Suga Moma's Cupcakes & Thangs | Application Preview

Suga Moma's Cupcakes & Thangs, owned by Latoshia Hampton-Gladney, is a woman, black/African American, veteran-owned small business located in Louisville, MS. After operating for one year in a physical store, the business is seeking grants to support improvements such as a new roof, upgraded equipment, and enhanced electrical work.

The proposed upgrades aim to enhance both the quality and quantity of products offered to the community. Latoshia intends to hire additional staff to help manage daily operations and support business growth.

Her personal journey as a cancer survivor drives her passion for baking, and she sees her business as a realization of a dream that brings her joy. Suga Moma's Cupcakes & Thangs has made a positive impact in the community, contributing through volunteer work and membership on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. The business was also recognized as the Best New Business in Mississippi for 2022.

In terms of competition, the bakery faces entities like Wal-Mart, but its competitive edge lies in providing fresh, daily-baked goods and a welcoming space for events such as birthday parties. The focus on exceptional customer service sets them apart in the market.
