Life Saving Credentials LLC | Application Preview
Life Saving Credentials LLC is seeking government grants to support staffing and establish liquid funds after depleting personal savings and income for essential supplies and equipment. The business aims to hire three additional staff members by the end of 2024 and lease classroom space in Durham for regular CPR classes.
The founder, motivated by a personal experience of performing CPR on a loved one, is passionate about teaching this vital skill to empower individuals in emergency situations. While there are online CPR courses that offer low-cost certification, the founder believes these lack the hands-on practice necessary for skill mastery. The limited number of CPR instructors in North Carolina has fostered a collaborative environment, with local instructors working together to support each other’s goals of public education.
The business's competitive edge lies in its approval from the North Carolina NCDCDEE, which ensures compliance with state childcare laws. The founder combines 15 years of childcare experience with comprehensive training offerings, including essential safety and compliance programs. Collaboration with a network of qualified trainers further enhances the services available, ensuring a wide range of required trainings can be met. This holistic approach positions Life Saving Credentials as a valuable resource in the community for CPR education and training.

Funding Usage
To pay staff and establish liquid funds. I have exhausted all my savings and earned income to purchase supplies, manikins and rental equipment. As I have expanded to require staffing, I can not maintain my liquid funds.

Business Plan
I have a plan to add 3 more staff by end of year 2024 and lease classroom rental space in Durham to host regular classes. The power of CPR has changed my life. Not just financially, but having had performed CPR on a loved one 5 years ago has changed my impact in life. Teaching as many people as possible this life saving skill is essential to the health and well being of my community and ensures every individual is ready in an emergency.

Self Identified Competition
I have not seen any competition in my immediate area. However, I do compete with online CPR services. Since there is not an abundance of instructors across North Carolina, many individuals will resort to taking CPR online. Online CPR is informative, but not comprehensive enough for individuals to gain that in person muscle memory practice on manikins that is required for skill mastery. Online learning platforms are a huge competitor as they market for as low as $14.95 for certifications. Other CPR instructors are not my competition, as the few I've met, have the same goals as myself (public education). Other instructors in Durham county serve as my network and we often send each other business that we can not fill or serve. Unlike online CPR classes, my class experience does stand out as I am an approved State of North Carolina NCDCDEE approved trainer. This recognition allows me to train in compliance with North Carolina's childcare laws, incorporate my 15 years of child care experience and inform providers with the safest practices for child care. Additionally, I provide a network of required training providers who service trainings that I can not directly teach such as SIDS and many other state required trainings. With my small network of trainers, we are all able to call and/or accommodate all requests for compliance and safety trainings, including OSHA, American Heart Association, NCDCDEE trainings, ASHI trainings, Medication administration and even blood borne pathogens.
