Mi Ofrenda LLC mf-22-0040 | Government Grant Application

Mi Ofrenda LLC | Application Preview

Mi Ofrenda LLC is seeking government grants to realize their dream of establishing a restaurant that focuses on creating artistic, homecooked meals for their patrons. They have received positive feedback on their food and believe they are well-prepared to take this next significant step.

Their business strategy involves investing in marketing and hiring social media management support to expand their audience and attract potential investors. Over the next five years, they aim to open a restaurant franchise model, enabling motivated individuals to join the Mi Ofrenda family, starting in Arizona and extending to neighboring states.

The owners, with over a decade of experience in the banking industry, have successfully navigated their food business to a sustainable state but have encountered growth challenges. They believe that securing funds will allow them to enhance their marketing efforts and transition from a food truck to a brick-and-mortar location.

In terms of competition, the Phoenix food truck market is booming, with a large number of new entrants each year. Three of the most popular competitors are highlighted: Naughty Tacos, which specializes in Birria; Ace of Wings, known for making significant daily sales with their wings; and Sunset Sushi, offering an array of sushi rolls.

Mi Ofrenda LLC's competitive advantage lies in their diverse menu, reflecting various culinary influences from different regions of Mexico. This unique approach sets them apart in a crowded market focused predominantly on traditional offerings.

  • Funding Usage

Our goal and dream is to start a restaurant. We want the freedom to create art with our food, and bring homecooked meals to our patrons. We have received plenty of positive reviews and believe we are ready to take the next step to create our very own restaurant.

  • Business Plan

Our plan to grow the business includes investing in our marketing, and hiring help to manage our social media platforms. We want to reach a larger audience and grab the attention of investors that would take a chance on hungry and ambitious small business owners. Our five year plan includes opening our doors to motivated self starters to give them the opportunity to franchise into Mi Ofrenda family. We plan not only to franchise in the state of Arizona but also in neighboring states. My wife and I started this business with the experience we acquired through our tenure in the banking industry. We have over 10 years of experience helping others start their small businesses and helping others achieve their goals. We have managed to reach a point where our business is sustainable and have unfortunately reached a plateau. With the help provided by these funds we can invest in marketing and go brick and mortar.

  • Self Identified Competition

In the Phoenix area, the food truck/ trailer market is a fast growing one with 5000 new trucks/trailers every year. Our competitors can't be limited to just 3. However there is 3 food trailers that are some of the most popular and we can say we would like to follow there business motto. Naughty Tacos Mexican food is one of the most popular and has the highest social media presence. They however only focus on Birria options. Secondly, Ace of Wings is a food truck that specialize in wings and they have a large following that allows them to make 20k in a day. Lastly Sunset Sushi that happens to be a Sushi food trailer that offers a wide variety of sushi rolls. Although this is a fast growing market with heavy competition, we understood our market and steered away from the traditional Mexican food truck and created a diverse menu that encompasses foods from all of Mexico. Food that was influence by our family that stems from Mexico City, Tepic, Chihuahua, Durango.
