Homestead Direct Primary Care 20231531302 | Government Grant Application

Homestead Direct Primary Care | Application Preview

Homestead Direct Primary Care is seeking government grants totaling $96,000 to support its startup. This funding will cover $10,000 for essential supplies and equipment, as well as $6,000 a month for a year to cover operating expenses, such as rent, until the clinic achieves profitability with a sufficient patient base.

The business plan involves starting with Dr. Langley as the sole employee for six months without compensation. The goal is to build a patient base of 150 before hiring a virtual assistant and, upon reaching 300 patients, adding a medical assistant with increased hours. Future plans may include hiring another physician or expanding to additional locations.

Homestead Direct Primary Care aims to stand out in a location with limited primary care providers. Pricing is competitive, with a focus on building relationships through community involvement and Dr. Langley's outreach efforts, including speaking engagements and educational content on her YouTube channel.

The clinic faces competition from local practices such as Glover Family Medicine, which is currently not accepting new patients, and Pine Ridge Family Medicine, formerly associated with Dr. Langley. In contrast, Homestead Direct aims to create a welcoming environment that resonates with patients, leveraging Dr. Langley’s approachable demeanor and expertise to attract clientele.

  • Funding Usage

$10,000 for startup supplies, equipment $6,000/month for monthly expenses including rent for 12 months (or until we have sufficient patients to make a profit)

  • Business Plan

I will start as the only employee, alone and without compensation, for 6 months or until the clinic is making a profit. After we have 150 patients I plan to hire a virtual assistant. At around 300 patients I will hire a medical assistant and slowly increase their weekly hours worked. In the future I could consider adding another physician to the practice or expanding to another location. Patients tend to choose whatever doctor they feel most connected to, or whatever doctor is closest geographically. Our prices are competitive, neither the least or most expensive in the area. Our Gleneagle location, with its dearth of primary care physicians, is a great benefit. Dr. Langley’s expected speaking engagements and community involvement will also be an asset for forming initial relationships with future patients. Medical practices are reliable sources of income, and this is a growing innovative way to practice that communities love across the nation.

  • Self Identified Competition

Glover Family Medicine in Monument, currently not accepting patients (full); children $25/mo, adults 18-39 $79/mo, adults 40-64 $89/mo, adults 65+ $109/mo Pine Ridge Family Medicine (Dr. Langley’s former practice) in northeast of the Springs; children $29/mo for ages 0-17, adults 18-40 $59/mo, 41-64 $79/mo, 65+ $99/mo Pinnacle Advanced Primary Care, southwestern Springs and Lone Tree with possible location coming to north side, first member $75/mo, 2 members $135/mo, family $185/mo Dr. Langley is a great asset as a knowledgeable physician that everyone finds easy to talk to. She hosts her own YouTube channel, educating on common healthcare concerns, and many patients choose her as their doctor after watching her videos and seeing how at-ease she makes them feel.
