Barchus Bookkeeping And Administration | Application Preview
Barchus Bookkeeping And Administration is applying for government grants to support its mission of empowering single mothers and abused women through skills training and improved employment opportunities. The funding will be used to pay off existing debts, upgrade equipment, and enhance training programs for new recruits.
The business plan involves collaborating with women's shelters and advocacy groups to provide training, which will also enable Barchus to take on new clients, with a list of interested prospects already in place. In addition, Barchus plans to launch a new venture focused on refinishing and repurposing used furniture for individuals who may not be equipped to handle office administration tasks.
The primary reason for grant approval is the commitment to positively impact the lives of struggling women and children. The owner draws on personal experience overcoming hardship and has successfully helped others achieve stability and growth in their lives.
While competition is uncertain, Barchus distinguishes itself by offering highly customized services that extend beyond basic bookkeeping into comprehensive office administration, predominantly delivered through remote work. Their competitive advantage lies in specializing in construction and trade administration for small businesses, enabling them to provide tailored financial insights that many traditional accounting services may miss. This expertise often results in Barchus being a more cost-effective solution for small businesses compared to hiring a CFO or full-time office manager. With a strong track record of referrals and no need for advertising for over 15 years, the business has established a solid reputation in the community.

Business Plan
By offering training through women's shelters, advocate groups, etc..., that will allow me to accept new clients (already a few waiting in line). I also plan to start another business, refinishing and repurposing used furniture, for those that aren't able to do the office admin activities. I intend to make a difference in the lives of women and children who are struggling to live a safe, healthy life. I have experienced that struggle for many years and have helped to empower quite a few women who really needed the help to move forward in their lives. I want to keep doing it!

Self Identified Competition
Honestly, I don't know...we offer some seriously customized services that go beyond just basic bookkeeping to full office administration, mostly by remote. I have not heard of another business like this... We have a special niche - we specialize in construction and trade administration for small businesses. This gives us a huge advantage over generic accounting firms, as we know what kind of data the company owners need to see in order to correctly analyze their businesses' finances and forecasting, in a job-costing report style (most CPAs aren't familiar enough with the construction industry the way that we are). Our services often lead to us being the less expensive option for small businesses, versus having to hire a CFO or full-time office manager. We have frequently been referred to clients, from local CPA firms as well as fellow clients. Advertising has been unnecessary for over 15 years now.
