Steak N Cheese Please | Application Preview
Steak N Cheese Please is seeking government grants to support its growth plans. The funding will be allocated with 20% directed towards reinvesting in the existing business and 80% focused on brand expansion, which includes covering attorney and filing fees.
The business plan involves creating a franchise disclosure document for approval from Virginia and other states to facilitate franchising. This will require hiring additional team members to ensure adequate support during the expansion process.
The owner brings 35 years of restaurant experience, having successfully managed brands like Domino's and Jersey Mike's. Now, the goal is to transition from being a franchisee to a franchisor. The owner emphasizes a commitment to maintaining budgetary discipline while fostering a customer-centric culture, which he believes has been overlooked in recent years. The company has also secured trademarks for its logo and name.
In terms of competition, the owner identifies Subway, Jersey Mike's, and Jimmy John's, noting their weaknesses in quality and customer service. The competitive advantage of Steak N Cheese Please lies in its commitment to high-quality products and a strong emphasis on treating customers and team members with respect, embodying The Golden Rule. The owner believes that fostering a positive work environment enhances customer interactions and overall job satisfaction for employees.

Business Plan
Create a franchise disclosure document that will need to be approved by the state of VA and other states in order to expand by franchising our brand. We will need to hire more team members to help give the support needed to do this. I have been in the restaurant business for 35 years and have had success with multiple brands such as Dominos and Jersey Mike’s. I have now decided to create my own brand in order to be the Franchisor instead of the Franchisee. I know how to keep cost in line, stay within a budget and be successful. I also know how to create a culture in a company where the customer comes first! Something that has been lost over the past few years. I have also Trade Marked our logo along with our name and it has been approved.

Self Identified Competition
Subway - they created an empire of subs but quality is not a too priority. Jersey Mike’s Subs - great organization. Have grown quickly. Quality is great and have lost a bit with their customer service. Jimmy John’s - Delivery is their only strong point. Sandwiches are not heavy at all!! Quality of products that we use along with a sense of The Golden Rule! Treat others how you would like to be treated is a list concept with most if not all chain restaurants. Setting a standard and holding Team Members accountable is a lost art! That’s all I’ve done all my life!! Sell my Team Members in what’s important and what makes doing a job fun. When you treat customers and each other well it becomes enjoyable. When you treat someone well that may have things going on but you make them feel better is empowering!!
