Main Street Designs 93-1812979 | Government Grant Application

Main Street Designs | Application Preview

Main Street Designs is applying for government grants to expand its product offerings and establish a physical location within the next five years. The funding will be used for startup costs, including purchasing new items and materials.

The business, operated by a woman sole proprietor since 2020, has navigated challenges during the pandemic and has been balancing this venture alongside a full-time job. The goal is to not only secure a storefront but also to expand into other states.

In terms of competition, Main Street Designs faces wholesalers, other Etsy sellers, and big box stores. The business prides itself on being woman-owned and highlights the unique struggles smaller enterprises face, particularly in managing increased costs for shipping and materials. Establishing a physical store could unlock significant potential for growth and resilience in a competitive market.

  • Business Plan

Though we are only online right now, we would like to have at least one physical location within the next 5 years. I am a women sole proprietor who has been growing my business since 2020. Not only do I run a small business but also work a 9-5 job. I am hoping to have a physical locate within the next 5 years and would like to expand to other states in the near future.

  • Self Identified Competition

    1. Wholesalers 2. Other Etsy Sellers 3. Big Box Stores I am a women owned small business. I have been running it since 2020 when Covid first hit. It has been a struggle to keep the business going as manufactures are delayed, financials have changed for my customer's, and expenses have increased. Competitors typically do not feel the burden of these changes since they already have millions of people purchasing from them. I, as a small business, feel every hardship. Shipping prices increasing, materials cost increasing, gas increasing, etc. I'd love to have a store front for my business as it can provide enormous potential for us.
