Flourished Life, PLLC 92-2980978 | Government Grant Application

Flourished Life, PLLC | Application Preview

Flourished Life, PLLC is seeking government grants to support its growth, requesting a total of $15,000. Of this amount, $10,000 is earmarked for training and certification as a "clini-coach,” an innovative approach that combines therapy and coaching. This program has already been approved, and the funding will help the business develop professionally and expand its services.

The remaining $5,000 will go towards acquiring a new computer and investing in marketing and advertising to boost visibility. The applicant has a solid background in mental health, having worked since 2013, and holds an LCSW license in Illinois. The experience gained during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in a residential setting, highlighted the need for a fresh approach to therapy, leading to the desire to open a private practice focused on helping individuals manage mental health challenges like burnout.

The applicant aims to integrate "clini-coaching" into her practice, which will allow for a broader range of services and a focus on personal growth and well-being. This approach will enable collaboration with families and agencies to enhance mental health support. With the requested funding, she believes she can establish a more effective practice and differentiate herself from competitors by addressing burnout not just as a condition to cope with but as a catalyst for meaningful change. The unique insight gained from her personal and professional experiences will empower her to offer innovative services that are not currently available in the area.

  • Funding Usage

$10,000 out of the total amount requested will go to my training and certification as a "clini-coach". More info can be found here: https://clinicoaches.com/about-clini-coaching/ I have applied for this training/support program and have been approved! I now just need the financial support so that my business can fully grow and flourish. The other $5000 would be allocated for me to obtain a new computer and pay for Google and other advertising/marketing.

  • Business Plan

I plan to firstly invest in myself. I have been in the mental health field since 2013 and have hit some major academic and career milestones. In summary, I have my LCSW in the state of Illinois and between supervisory experience and clinical experience, I'm very confident in my ability to own and engage in amazing client services. At this time, my licensure allows me to focus on therapy, but full transparency: I worked full-time in a residential setting completely through the Covid-19 pandemic (in person- we never closed door because of our clients) as a therapist to individuals with chronic and severely impactful mental illness. On top of this, I was also a supervisor to an extremely burnt out team. This led to my own struggles with burnout and I briefly left the field before deciding to work on opening my own practice. My goal was to create a private practice in which I helped individuals very much like myself find themselves again. I have found that my strength is in "clini-coaching" which is a very new thing. My focus would shift from a strictly therapeutic framework to a framework that is a combination of therapy and coaching! More information can be found here: https://clinicoaches.com/about-clini-coaching/ Therefore, adding coaching to my practice is an absolute must for me. The training and support I have chosen to be able to do this is through a fellow therapist that has access to so many professionals to help me grow: professional marketing team, business team, etc. This would expand my business in terms of services that I offer to clients during individual sessions as well as services that are offered outside of my practice. I have a ton of lived and clinical experience with burnout, compassion fatigue, caregiving fatigue, communication and relationship focus, etc. With obtaining my "clini-coaching" in all of its glory, I'll be able to do SO MUCH MORE than just therapy. I want to explode. I want to host work retreats for agencies that are looking to invest in their employees' mental health and well-being. I want to work collaborate with families, agencies, and communities to help their people reach their best and full potential. But first, I need to set myself up to succeed with my private practice. I have everything that I need to succeed with the exception of the amount I've requested so that I can promptly obtain "clini-coach" training and technology and marketing/advertisement monies. My practice launched just last month and now is the perfect time for me to take a step back and fully invest in myself. I have learned that in order for me to be completely successful, I need engage in services that I'm passionate and confident in. It turns out that this isn't strictly therapy but instead coaching with clinical flare. I have what my husband refers to as "Mel-ness" which is my ability to instantly connect with people. This is exactly what makes me well-sought support to others. Once I have the $10,000 to move forward with my "clini-coach" training, I will be given access to a professional website, marketing and advertising strategies, and a lifetime support of fellow "clini-coaches". Everything will fall into place. I have the basics right now but need to fine tune everything and really get my niche down.

  • Self Identified Competition

There are a few private practices in the area that are my competitors as well as the local community mental health agency. What makes me different from my competitors is honestly my take on burnout. Burnout has been an increased conversation that mental health agencies and private practices are having with their employees. However, the conversation looks a lot like: "What are the signs and symptoms of burnout?" "How do we cope with it?" "How do we get strong again so that we can get back to what we love?" The conversation and work that I will do with burnout is going to take all of that a step further. We need to talk about the steps to take when there may be no getting back to what we love exactly how we knew it. For me, that looks exactly like what I'm doing now: taking a step back and changing my direction from the therapy I've been well-trained in and removing the parts that have nearly ended my career in this field. I will replace those parts with my "clini-coaching" so that I can offer clients and larger range of services that my competitors don't.
