L&S Custom Tailrs | Application Preview
L&S Custom Tailors seeks government funding to establish a manufacturing facility for custom suits in the New York City area, specifically just outside Manhattan. The initiative aims to expand their business while also providing manufacturing services to other vendors within the United States.
The proposed facility will initially employ 10 to 20 tailors, with plans to grow this number to 50 over time. By keeping production in the U.S., L&S aims to meet the increasing demand for custom and on-demand clothing, an area currently underserved due to a lack of domestic manufacturing options.
In addition to suit production, the company intends to implement a school and internship program in partnership with local fashion schools, offering students college credits. This initiative emphasizes the importance of preserving traditional tailoring skills in a shrinking industry.
L&S faces limited competition, with only three remaining U.S. companies in this niche. Martin Greenfield is an aging facility that has stopped taking new clients. Andrian Jules focuses on low-end clothing, while Tom James only caters to its own network of salespeople.
The company's competitive advantage lies in its commitment to craftsmanship and luxury, utilizing modern machinery to innovate production processes. By revitalizing high-quality tailoring in the U.S., L&S Custom Tailors aims to lead the custom suit market while creating job opportunities and training new talent in the field.

Funding Usage
I would like to open a factory for making and manufacturing of suits here in the United States. We are looking to do this outside Manhatten, in NYC. This is an expansion of our own business as well as a B2B manufacturing for Vendors here in the States.
-
Business Plan
We are looking to hire 10-20 Employees to start and Grow from there. This will be a factory for the custom suits (individual orders) for L&S Tailors as well as Numerous vendors here in the States. As of now, we all have no choice on making suits to go outside of the United States. There are almost no facilities in the USA to do this. The business of custom clothing, and on-demand orders is growing rapidly. We are a skilled trade company with many skills and talents in a dying trade. We also plan to carve out a school/internship/job program within this facility. We already discussed this with local fashion schools to help give college credits for these classes. We are forced to send our orders now outside the united states because there an almost no options for us here. We plan to launch with a min of 10 tailors in hopes of growing it to 50 tailors. The facility will be green state-of-the-art machinery.

Self Identified Competition
There are only 3 left in the United States that do the kind of thing we plan to offer... 1. Martin Greenfield. This facility no longer excepts new clients, its over 50 year old company, run down with no changes to the facility in over 50 years. They have a hand full of ready-to-wear clients like beginners to order bulk orders vs individuals. 2. Andrian Jules, Based in rotchester NY. same anther old factory that specializes is very low end clothing. We are in the high-end market. They produce mass productions, of inexpensive clothing. 3. Tom James- The largest. They are based in Maryland. They only make for other own customers. They have hundreds of remote sales people through the USA and sell only there own. We are Tailors. We care about how things fit and are made. We are in the luxury market, but on made old world tailoring. With the innovation is the past 20 years, the newer higher-end machinery will help with cutting production costs and savings. Most have not innovated anything here in the USA in those years, falling behind other countries and allowing them to lead the way for it. We need to bring it back here.
