Next-Gen Electronics LLC Next-Gen Electronics LLC | Government Grant Application

Next-Gen Electronics LLC | Application Preview

Next-Gen Electronics LLC is seeking government grant funding to enhance its business operations and inventory. The company plans to use the funds primarily to purchase additional stock, which will help increase sales by offering a wider range of products, including popular items like phone chargers, HDMI cords, wireless earbuds, and portable speakers. The owner aims to hire an employee to manage inventory and assist with online product listings, especially during the upcoming busy season.

In addition to hiring, a portion of the funding will be allocated for purchasing new shelving and workstations to accommodate the expanding inventory. Depending on sales growth, the business may move to a warehouse to manage increased volume, as it currently operates from personal property.

The business plan outlines aggressive growth ambitions over the next year, with goals to double or triple inventory and introduce new product lines to balance sales during slower periods. In the next five years, the owner envisions a fully operational team and increased market presence through platforms like Amazon and a dedicated website.

The owner emphasizes a strong work ethic and leadership abilities, having successfully grown the business from a modest start to maintaining an inventory of around 4,000 items, with average monthly sales exceeding $13,000.

In a competitive landscape, the owner notes a lack of significant competition in video game sales but acknowledges facing challenges from other toy sellers. The company's competitive edge lies in its professionalism, high-quality listings, and comprehensive product descriptions, which enhance customer trust and satisfaction.

  • Funding Usage

Funding would be used in a few ways. I would be primarily buying more stock to further increase our sales, as with a larger number of games and figures to choose from, the more daily sales we continue to get. I would also be looking into buying from new vendors and expanding out our inventory into an even wider range of items to sell. Some of these new items I know would include phone cords and chargers, as I have had great sales from these in the past too. Just have never had the funds to actually buy from a vendor. This would also expand into HDMI cords, wireless earbuds and portable speakers, and from there an even larger range of trending products. The funding would also be towards hiring in an employee to help with the increased load of work. We would be able to introduce proper inventory checks and management this way, as well as increase the number of items we can get put online every week currently of course. Right now is the slow time of the year for us, based off data from the past couple of years. So hiring someone in within the next month and getting them trained up for our busy season is a must! Training would be simple and not expensive beyond normal costs of hiring an employee, as I already have bought the equipment needed to clean and repair any damaged games or figures. Which does bring me to my next topic. A small amount would be spent on new shelving and workstations. But I currently have most things bought as far as equipment goes, including the rebuffing machine to make games look like new again. I also have already purchased several shelves, but I am sure if we continue to expand due to more funding, we will be needing more shelving and workstations before too long. Depending on the amount of funding received and how fast we increase our sales, we may also look into expanding into a warehouse to help handle the increased load. Currently I do run the business from my personal property, and that has been more than enough room to keep things running and smoothly at that. This could easily change though should the inventory and demand keep increasing, and so it is an option I am starting to look into more and more as time goes on.

  • Business Plan

I plan to continue to grow even more than I already have. Over the course of the next year, I am aiming to at least double if not triple current inventory, and expand into new items for us to continue to sell. Especially to help counter balance during the slower times of the year. I also plan on hiring in an employee within the next 6 months to help with the increase inventory of the business. From there, the plan for the next 5 years isn't too complicated. I plan to continue to expand out, both on the current option of items we have and on many new ones too. Sometime between 1-2 years from now (or sooner if possible of course) I see us getting into a warehouse and having 2-3 employees with us by that time. After getting settled into a true warehouse environment, the goals would be to continue to expand up and out the business with the current products we offer all while still expanding out into many more markets such as Amazon and our own website as well. Ideally, in about 5 years time, the business should be able to perform its daily operations and have a fully functional team working behind it all, with me just needing to oversee the operations from week to week. And still be able to be expanding out more and more as time goes on of course. I am a very hard working and dedicated individual. I aim always for the best I can do and do not settle until I know I've done my absolute best on something. Without sounding like am gloating about myself I hope, I have found that I am always a few steps ahead of those around me in my age group. My maturity level has just always been higher than my peers, even back when I was in grade and high school. Since then, I've always had a leader role in any of my jobs I've had, and have always had a leader role in most of the things I do. I find others look up to me for advice and they respect me as an individual all the same. I am a very professional individual who likes to make sure that everything is running smoothly and correctly at all times. Nowadays, I aim to take that leader role to even greater heights with my own business. The business has shown great growth and promise since I've started giving this my full time back in October of 2021. I started the whole thing with only a few thousand I had saved up to cover my monthly expenses, and about $5000 start up cash from refinancing my personal house. From there, I've been able to grow up a business that holds an inventory of about 4000 items, or around $15,000 in stock at all times. My monthly sales last year averaged out to $13,666, and with the proper funding that number will only continue to grow exponentially.

  • Self Identified Competition

When it comes to my video game sales, I don't find I have too many people I am consisting competing against. There are of course others that make sales, and a couple make them like I do, but nobody seems to be cornering the market or anything like that. They do keep me checking my prices and making sure I am up to date of course, but I never find that one person beating my sales consistently. As for the toys, I have a few other sellers who give me a run for my money. I am always looking how to improve myself over one of these sellers, as he sells quite a few of the figures every single day. I do too of course, but he does outmatch me on one category, won't even try to lie about it. However, I do better than him in other categories too, such as the Disney Figures. They are constantly keeping me on my toes, always trying to improve myself. Which is a good thing of course. But the biggest issue I find to why I can't quite keep up with him is my inventory, I've never been able to grow it up as large as they have and so they get more sales due to just having more options in which figures to choose from. My professionalism is the biggest difference between me and my competition. If you look over my listings and items, you will find very clean, clear photos of each and every item. They have all been cropped down to focus on just the item I am selling, and are displayed in a set area with fantastic lighting. Some listings I have even edited my own cover photo to help show many of the items we offer within the one listing, along with the deals that go with it such as a Buy 3 Get 1 Free Bundle. Then we go and look at the others selling the same items, and you have next to no photos, or it looks like they've taken them from their living floor or couch. The item descriptions are unclear and provide very little detail what the listing actually is or the condition its in. Meanwhile, ours are very clean cut and have information on everything, even what to do in case you need to return an item. Which we always offer a 30 day return policy as well, not something many ebay sellers do. I am confident the games that are cleaned will work as they should, or your money back!
