Cassie Insures LLC 605 244 856 | Government Grant Application

Cassie Insures LLC | Application Preview

Cassie Insures LLC is seeking government grants to enhance its operations, support its employees, and contribute to the local community. The funding will ensure that Cassie's assistant, Emma, is employed for the rest of the year, allowing her to balance work with her final year of college. The funds will also be used for upgrading computer systems, creating business cards, and sponsoring community events, particularly those supporting local women’s networking initiatives focused on volunteer work.

The business anticipates significant growth over the next five years, aiming to almost double in size. To facilitate this growth, Cassie plans to increase Emma's hours and train her to handle more responsibilities. This would free up Cassie's schedule, allowing her to focus on client relationships and offering value-added services, such as savings opportunities for existing clients.

Cassie emphasizes her commitment to the community, believing that investing in her business will enable her to give back more effectively. She has established a women's networking group aimed at mutual support and community service, working with organizations that address local needs.

In terms of competition, while larger agencies like Farmers and State Farm pose challenges, Cassie differentiates her services by prioritizing personalized client interactions. She invests time in educating her clients, often at their convenience, ensuring they fully understand their insurance policies without any pressure or confusion. This approach highlights her commitment to client welfare, contrasting with the practices of larger, captive brokerages. Overall, Cassie's focus is on building lasting relationships and supporting her community.

  • Funding Usage

With these funds I will be able to guarantee work for my employee Emma for the rest of the year, as well as help her update and maintain her equipment. With guaranteed work, Emma will be able to support herself while attending her final year of college. I will also be able to upgrade computer systems, purchase business cards, and sponsor local events supporting other local businesses I work in tandem with, one of which being an networking group of women in my community where we participate in volunteer work and helping each other in times of need. With these funds covering what is necessary to function in my business, I will be able to pour my attention and dedication into my clients to ensure they are fully taken care of and protected with their insurance, as well as continue to uplift my community.

  • Business Plan

Over the next 5 years my business is on course for almost doubling in size - what is crucial to keeping that growth trajectory is having consistent help from my assistant. Increasing the number of hours offered to my assistant and training her to do more of my daily work is a lynchpin in the growth of my business moving forward- sharing the workload will make it possible for me to free up more of my time, which I can then spend dedicating to my clients. For example, with more time in my daily schedule freed up, I can do activities such as calling current clients and offer to find them additional savings with a home and auto bundle versus just insuring their home by itself. Activities like this save the clients money while also bringing more revenue into my business, so it’s mutually beneficial; however, it is time consuming to do the extra work needed to contact my entire book of business, which makes increasing my assistant’s hours necessary in order to proceed with this growth plan. I firmly believe that it is my responsibility as a community member and business owner to find ways to actively pour into others. With the investment into my own business, my revenue will increase, and with that increase in revenue I can then invest time, money, and energy back into my local economy and community. One example of this core belief in action is my women’s networking group that I founded and created about 4 years ago. We’re a group of 8-10 women who meet monthly to discuss ways to lift each other up, educate one another, and volunteer our time and resources to those in need. In the past we’ve worked with organizations such as “Raising Girls” in Tacoma, or “Food is Free Tacoma” - these two specifically aim to redirect personal hygiene products and food to communities in need. Investing in me and my business means investing in causes like these, in turn uplifting my partners and community members as well.

  • Self Identified Competition

There are plenty of other independent insurance agencies out there. I would say Farmers and State Farm have been big competitors in the past, yet they are "captive" brokerages, meaning they can only look within their own products for insurance for clients. It's my professional opinion that this isn't in the best interest of the client in terms of providing all the most competitive options. What makes me different is that I'm not out to chase a quick buck - I invest my time and energy into long conversations with clients (often unpaid at first) walking them through every aspect of their policy that they need to know about. I take time on weekends and evenings to help if that's the best time for them after their own working hours, because I need to be sure they're educated on the insurance and not feeling as though they are confused or taken advantage of, which happens all too often in this industry.
