Realms - Creative ltd 92-1831794 | Government Grant Application

Realms - Creative ltd | Application Preview

Realms - Creative Ltd. is seeking government grant funding to support its ambitious project of producing a comprehensive world codex and subsidiary guides over the next three years. The requested funding includes:

- $16,000 for publishing education, which covers marketing, printing, and distribution of the initial Tiny-Guides. - $10,000 to $15,000 for graphic design and artwork for the Tiny-Guides and the majority of the first Mini-Almanac. - $10,000 to $13,000 dedicated to marketing the project through streaming, social media, and Patreon. - Remaining funds will be allocated to additional artwork and future projects.

The company aims to create a World Codex featuring a detailed mythology with over 60 deities and guidelines for world-building. Following this, Realms plans to venture into Science Fiction and publish guides shaped by player contributions. The vision includes hosting a major event where players can come together, culminating in the release of the World Codex and the Cosmology Tome.

The funding is described as critical for achieving high-quality production and marketing, although the business can operate without it, albeit slower and with lesser quality. The founder expresses a deeply personal commitment to storytelling and legacy, envisioning the enterprise as a lasting gift to his son.

In terms of competition, companies like Wizards of the Coast and Paizo dominate the market; however, Realms - Creative Ltd. distinguishes itself by offering a systemless format that allows for greater creativity and inclusivity. The founder emphasizes their unique storytelling approach, which builds a complex, interconnected narrative rather than focusing on a single group. With a background in performance and event coordination, they highlight their capability to deliver engaging content that stands out in a crowded market.

  • Business Plan

The first world codex and all of its subsidiaries will take about three years to produce, all the while, multiple streams will be going on a weekly basis, leading up to a big event where all of the people who have played will come together to play out the end. That is when we will release the World Codex, and announce the Cosmology Tome. Complete with a galactic layout, over 60 deities, and instructions on how to build a world and pantheon inside of this vast and unique cosmology/mythology. After the world codex and the cosmology tome, we will start branching into Science Fiction, and create a space faring epic, with the same format, of periodic small guides, followed by ever increasing sized guides that are all forged by players. Additionally, when we start this process, we will be reviewing some of the worlds that people have made using the Cosmology Tome and then publish those Worlds with the help of their creators, eventually leading to entire universes, or rather... "Realms", under the caring and guiding umbrella of Realms - Creative ltd. Instead of going into elaborate detail of how solid this plan is, or boast about how original the content or approach is, or show graphs about the rising demand TTRPGs, or display Wizards of the Coast's OGL 1.1 blunder that is leading people to desire new unique content; I will only tell you about why I need to do this. This is my legacy. This is the business that I will pass down to my son, if he wants it, because I will do this. It is not dependent on this money, granted it will take longer, have less quality art and design, and generally not have as large of a base. But the marketing potential is great enough to get everyone involved paid. However, that isn't the core reason I'm going to produce these guides. I have these worlds, characters, and stories in my head, and they crave and scream to be on the page. I am a storyteller, through and through, and I will tell these stories. Because everyone needs to leave some mark on this world. This is my footprint in the concrete. This is my legacy.

  • Self Identified Competition

The Biggest competition in this market, in fact, encourages others to create and produce their own content as well, with the recent exception of the first on this list: 1. Wizards of the Coast (Dungeons and Dragons) 2. Paizo (Pathfinder) 3. Games Workshop (Call of Cthulhu) I have not found a single World Guide publishing company/service that doesn't have their content locked into a single rules system, or previously made format, or coupled to their own rules system, so with that regards, my systemless format will be quite unique. Nor do these companies try to pull off such an interconnected, complex web of a story for a stream, it's usually centered around just one group of players. Closest thing that comes to it is Westmarches, which is more of an MMO - TTRPG, then the almost Marvel-esque Epic I am producing. And finally, since I was a musical performer, event coordinator, and band leader for quite some time a few years back, I really know how to put on a great show... and how to herd cats.
