NIGELLA INDUSTRIES INC 27-5128102 | Government Grant Application

NIGELLA INDUSTRIES INC | Application Preview

Nigella Industries Inc. is seeking government grants to support its operations, specifically to cover payroll and acquire essential manufacturing materials such as lumber, paint, and hardware. The company has transitioned from a 2-step distributor model to a manufacturing business that not only enhances its competitive edge but also enables a direct-to-consumer sales approach. This shift opens up access to a broader customer base with the potential for higher pricing.

With a solid 15-year track record of growth and employee retention, Nigella has made significant investments in long-term growth by bringing manufacturing in-house. This strategic decision has allowed them to bid on projects that were previously unattainable. The company is committed to maintaining competitive pricing and quality, countering the trend of inflated prices in the market following the pandemic.

In terms of competition, Nigella faces import cabinet distributors like HDI Cabinetry, KCD Cabinetry, and Sunco Cabinetry, which source RTA cabinets from overseas. However, Nigella's competitive advantage lies in its ability to manufacture on demand, ensuring quicker turnaround times for clients. The company can promptly address shortages and customize products to meet specific client needs, a flexibility that competitors lack. Overall, Nigella’s focus is on delivering quality products at fair prices while providing exceptional customer service, which it believes will foster continued growth.

  • Business Plan

Currently we operate as a 2-step distributor, selling our goods through contractors or through other distrbutors. With our newly formed manufacturing business, we are now able to compete more competitively as a manufacturer, but we are also setting up a direct to consumer business that opens up a larger network of clients at a higher price point. Nigella is a privately owned small corporation and has a 15 year history of growth, customer retention and employee growth. We have taken our business to the next level by making the investment in long term growth. Taking control of our distributed products, and bring the manufacturing process in house has already allowed us to compete on projects we would have otherwise not been awarded. We continue to look as market conditions and how they impact the customer, and how too many manufacturers over the last 2-3 years have taken advantage of the word "COVID" as an excuse to increase their margins, all the while blaming increases on employee retention, raw goods, distribution and overall inflation. Although some of those are very real influences, I've found that the costs of raw goods and other commodities have down in the last 12 months and have had little impact on "new market pricing" that the consumer is paying. I want my product to be competitive and bring value to my clients. I also want to maintain integrity in growth by not getting greedy with margins. Quality product at a fare price, with exceptional customer service is how this business will continue to grow.

  • Self Identified Competition

The top of the list for competition are Import cabinet distributors. HDI Cabinetry KCD Cabinetry Sunco Cabinetry Each of these companies import manufactured cabinetry in either China, or Vietnam. They bring in containers of RTA "Ready to Assemble" cabinets and ship directly to the client or distributor. Our ability to manufacturer on demand is our greatest strength. If any of those companies run out of product, it could be 30-90 days for that container to arrive at the port. This keeps the customer from being able to complete the project. Any shortage, damage or internal errors can be fixed within hours since everything we build is readily available. Our selection of door styles and finishes are not limited to what we import. Our ability to change standard size boxes to meet certain demands that the client requires is something we can change by clicking a button. None of the above companies have the ability to modify their product in any way.
