True Blue Services | Application Preview
True Blue Services is seeking government grants to replace outdated and frequently malfunctioning used equipment that was purchased several years ago. The funding will enable the company to buy new equipment, ensuring it is under warranty and easier to repair.
The owner, a disabled veteran with eight years of Army service, started the business alongside his wife after struggling with various jobs. They invested their own savings and borrowed funds to acquire current equipment, emphasizing their dedication to their work in the astroturf installation sector.
In terms of marketing, True Blue Services utilizes radio, social media, local print, and word of mouth, as well as maintaining membership in the realtor association. Their competition includes long-established companies like Masterscape, Lone Star Lawn & Landscape, and TruGreen Lawn Care, all of which focus mainly on larger commercial projects.
True Blue Services differentiates itself by accepting smaller jobs that larger competitors often overlook, which has helped them build a loyal customer base. The owner expresses a deep passion for their work and a strong desire to continue providing quality services, highlighting the need for the requested funding to sustain and grow their operations.

Funding Usage
Our current equipment was purchased used and is 5-7 years old which is outdated and constantly breaking which is interfering with our work. I'm asking for enough to purchase brand new equipment which will be under warranty and parts will be easier to locate parts should it break.

Business Plan
We are currently utilizing the radio, all forms of local social media, a local paper and word of mouth. We are also member of the realtor association. To whom it may concern, I am going to tell you about our company. I am a disabled veteran and served for eight years in the US Army and deployed three times. I was medically discharged in 2014 and went from job to job (9 total) until my wife and I started True Blue Services. We scrapped together the funds needed and borrowed from family to purchase the used equipment we have today. I am nobody special and we don't have a niche company part from installing astroturf. We are asking only for enough to purchase new equipment to continue to what we love doing and what I have found fits me since leaving the Army.

Self Identified Competition
The biggest competitor we have is Masterscape. They have been in operation in Abilene Tx for 30+ years and do a lot of commercial properties. I have spoken with several of the employees and have been with the company for year's. Not to mention they have given me a lot of insight to moving our company from Colorado to Texas. The second is Lone Star Lawn & Landscape, I am truly sorry I don't know a whole about them. Other than they have been in operation for 15+ years. I see their crews all over town. Third is TruGreen Lawn care. Again, I don't know whole lot about them other than they do a lot of spraying for weeds and lawn fertilizers. Again, big company with crews all over town. Our company isn't afraid to take on the small jobs the big guys won't take. I've spoken with homeowners who contacted us to do a fence for them and the bigger companies wouldn't take the job because it was too small and wouldn't pay enough. I know a lot goes into approving funds and I truly wish I had more to tell you other than I finally found what fits my life and where I fit job wise. I truly love what we do and would hate to loose what we have worked so hard to accomplish.
