Kwispylicious LLC | Application Preview
Kwispylicious LLC is applying for government grants to support their business. They seek $20,000 in total funding, breaking it down into $5,000 to cover initial out-of-pocket expenses for both founders, and $15,000 aimed at creating a solid foundation for the business, including first-year operating costs. Any additional funds would be used to invest in equipment or to enhance their website.
The business plan includes developing a website and active social media presence, with plans for marketing at local markets through QR codes and networking cards. Future goals involve potential paid sponsorships and expanding to a commercial space.
The founders emphasize that freeze-dried fruits and candies are more than a trend, citing the recent availability of freeze dryers for home use which has spurred local business growth. With no local competition, they believe they can dominate their market. Currently, they are both employed in the food and beverage sector, allowing them to cover expenses while launching this venture.
While there are numerous freeze-dried product companies online, many have higher prices and quality issues, which gives Kwispylicious a competitive edge. The founders aim for higher-quality offerings without the risk of damage during shipping, setting themselves apart from existing online competitors.

Funding Usage
5,000 alone would cover the initial cost me and my partner have put into the business out of pocket. The additional 15,000 would go towards building a strong foundation for our business. Mostly towards the first years projected expenses, but if we had any extra money we could invest in another machine or hiring someone to build a more functional website.

Business Plan
Aside from the website we’re building, we’re also in the process of making a social media page. Initially at the local markets we’ll have QR codes to take customers to those pages, and cards to hand out to people looking to network our business. In the future we’ll be able to afford the money to have paid sponsorships and likely look into buying commercial equipment and building spaces so as to run out of a local store. While freeze dried fruit and candy may seem like a fad at the moment the opposite is actually true. Freeze dryers have only been made available for residential use in the last couple years. As a result more people are starting up local businesses and shops. Me and my partner currently have no competition in our area and as a result can dominate the market. As our business expands we can take our low prices online and beat out the virtual competition as well. As of right now me and my partner are both servers in the food and beverage industry, so most of our expenses are paid through our current jobs. These investments would afford us the luxury of focusing on just our business.

Self Identified Competition
As I stated in our reasons to invest topic, we have no local competition. However, online there are countless freeze dried companies. Most sell candy and fruit, but others sell freeze dried soups or rations for doomsday and meal preparers. There prices are a bit higher, and additionly our customers have told us that their products are usually lower quality (ie not freeze dried properly), or comes broken in the mail. We don’t sell unfinished product, and online we don’t plan to sell products that damage easily so as to not disappoint.
