Mathew Vance | Application Preview

Mathew Vance is seeking government grants to fund the purchase of property for reopening his successful beauty business after a period of illness. He highlights his past achievements in establishing a profitable enterprise within a year, leveraging effective marketing strategies in a booming industry where clients prioritize their beauty appointments.

Vance expresses a strong desire to relocate to Kentucky, where his family has roots. He emphasizes his self-sufficiency, having built his business through hard work without ever seeking assistance. His sudden illness led to financial challenges, but he firmly believes that with the right space, he can quickly succeed again.

He identifies chain salons as his only competitors but notes that their clientele differs significantly from his target audience. Vance claims a competitive advantage by offering unique, specialized beauty services that are largely unavailable at typical salons, positioning himself as an expert in a niche market.

  • Funding Usage

I would like to purchase a property to start my business up again. Prior to my sudden illness I was very very successful. I had a prominent business in my original area generating a large income compared to my predecessors.

  • Business Plan

My talents are very honed in and it took me less than one year to become fully busy for both myself and my staff. I use the best marketing tools available. The beauty industry is booming everywhere and most people would rather default on a bill than miss an appointment I have always wanted to move to Kentucky to open my business. My family was all born and raised there. I have never asked for help in any of my endeavors. It has always been blood, sweat and tears to climb to the top. Due to myself owning my own business and falling ill suddenly I didn't have enough income ( a year out of work) to sustain and hold my business here. I know for a fact I could immediately succeed with a new business opportunity. I just need the space to offer it.

  • Self Identified Competition

The only competitor to my business would be chain salons. The clientele that frequent those types of salons are not the same clientele I typically accumulate. I offer way more intense beauty services than 90% of typical businesses in this industry I offer a very different dynamic to the industry. The professonal services offered from myself are not typically offered in 90% of my lone of work.
