Self Identified Competition
In the e-commerce sales channel of the business, the customer base is tailored towards specific BMW owners looking to customize their interior. Out of all known competitors that are established in this niche market, only one of them is an actual competitor and that is due to them being based in the United States. The other competitors are based outside of the USA. The USA competitor was established in 2011 and is a BMW aftermarket parts supplier, so technically they are not my competitor but rather the person/company that provides them the upholstery service is the competitor. Regardless, the fact that my company is the direct provider for the product and not a middle man, will allow for better turn around times, pricing, quality control, and adaptability to the needs of the market. The other 2 competitors outside the US, do not have as much of an affect to the US based customers. Key difference between my business and competitor (US based competitor) is that my business is the manufacturer of the custom products as opposed to a middle man that distributes another companies product. In addition, the competitors other competitors of BMW aftermarket parts sales also distribute my custom products. My company was able to take hold of a significant amount of the online market share for BMW specific custom upholstered interior parts due to the limited availability of those that provide what my company sells.
