Low Country Fabrications LLC. (DBA Low Country Boa | Application Preview

Low Country Fabrications LLC, operating as Low Country Boats, is seeking government grants to support key business initiatives aimed at growth. The funding will be utilized to increase production rates, hire two new employees, upgrade equipment, and expand their dealer network.

Over the next five years, Low Country Boats aims to enhance their dealer network and production capacity, positioning themselves as a significant contender in the Southeast's boating industry. With over five years of operation and a strong reputation built on customer satisfaction—reflected in more than 100 boats sold without a single unsatisfied customer—they are at a pivotal point where working capital is essential to bolster growth. They currently produce about 30 boats annually, generating approximately $400,000 in revenue. With added staff, they expect to double production and revenue to around $800,000.

Their existing dealers, Marshall's Marine and Performance East, have been instrumental in their success, and the company has strong confidence in their ability to attract additional dealers throughout the Southeast as resources allow. The company differentiates itself in a competitive landscape that includes larger manufacturers such as Excel and Xpress, as well as similar-sized firms like Prodigy and Timber Creek, by focusing on customized, higher-quality products.

Low Country Boats prides itself on superior quality and feedback from customers, with a competitive pricing strategy. They utilize advanced manufacturing techniques, such as a unique one-piece rounded chine hull design, which enhances performance and durability compared to competitors. The company sees this growth phase as just the beginning and is poised to innovate further as they expand in the boating industry.

  • Business Plan

Low Country Boats plans to increase our dealer network and production over the next 5 years. Increased production, efficiency, and innovation will allow us to become a major player in the boating industry throughout the Southeast of the United States. Low Country Boats is at a critical point of growth currently and working capital is needed to hire employees, upgrade equipment, and increase production. We have been in business over 5 years and have created a very good reputation as a brand and product. With over 100 boats sold we have not one unsatisfied customer. Currently, we have two top notch Boat dealers selling our boats and we offer factory direct custom built boats as well. One is Marshall's Marine in Lake City, SC and Georgetown, SC. The other is Performance East in Goldsboro, NC and soon to open a new location in Cedar Point, NC on the coast. My partner and I have done this with very little marketing and have worked our way to this point from the very bottom becoming the only boat builder in SC in our niche market. We are currently capable of producing appox. 30 boats per year which brings an annual revenue of approx. $400k per year. With an additional two employees we can grow the number of boats produced to 60 with an annual revenue of approx. $800k. We have managed to get above the break even point just as owners/operators and with additional employees and increased production we will remarkably grow our net profit. Both of our current dealers came to us and we have no doubt we can obtain more all over the Southeast if we have the time and resources. This is just the beginning of Low Country Boats. As we grow we will continue to innovate to even bigger projects and become a major player in the boat industry.

  • Self Identified Competition

Our top competitors include Excel boats, Xpress Boats, Prodigy Boats, and Timber Creek Boats. All of our competitors are from other states. Some of our competitors like excel and xpress are much larger companies and own by even larger companies. These are more massed produced with lesser quality. Other competitors like Prodigy and Timber Creek operate similar to us. A more custom, higher quality product and experience. The quality of our boats is second to none. Every one of our customers will vouch for that. We have 100% positive feedback and reviews from our customers. Our price point is lower than our Direct Competitors. Our boats are built with a very strong longitudinal support structure, meaning they can take abuse. We are one of the only manufacturers to build a "one piece rounded chine hull". This gives our boats optimum performance and handling, better than the competition.
