CB Treats, LLC CB Treats, LLC | Government Grant Application

CB Treats, LLC | Application Preview

CB Treats, LLC is seeking government funding to enhance its marketing efforts and expand operations as a mobile food vendor in Colonial Beach. The total amount requested is $22,500, allocated as follows: $5,000 for marketing and website development, $7,500 for graphical wrapping of the trailer, $7,500 for essential equipment, and $2,500 for event fees.

The business plan is backed by the approval of the Colonial Beach planning commission and Town Council for a new mobile food vendor court located near the beach and town center. This location will enhance visibility and recognition among both local residents and tourists. Improved marketing and an online ordering feature are expected to streamline service.

The owner, who has funded the startup independently since April 2021, is focused on innovative growth strategies. With a background in fast food management and finance, the owner has a solid understanding of business operations, enabling them to navigate opportunities and risks effectively.

In terms of competition, while several restaurants exist in Colonial Beach, the mobile food vendor market has limited offerings, particularly for baked goods. The owner sees a unique opportunity, as there are currently no dedicated bakeries or donut shops in the area. The goal is to establish CB Treats as a leader in customer service and food quality, further facilitated by the owner’s connections within the local business community.

  • Business Plan

Colonial Beach planning commission and Town Council has approved a mobile food vendor court which will be located on the main thoroughfare through town and two blocks from the beach/boardwalk. I am one of the 7 vendors being considered for placement within the court. A semi permanent site location will allow for greater name recognition with both town residents and beach visitors. Increased marketing and website development will allow for online ordering for faster service. As a business owner, I am continually looking for innovative ways to improve my business. Until now, I have fully funded my business start up and I have been the primary operator of the business since start up in April, 2021. I selected this business based on the needs in the town I will be predominately located - Colonial Beach. Colonial Beach has invested heavily in increasing tourism and continues for grow as a best place to visit in our region which provides a positive future outlook on growth for the business. My background includes fast food managements with several large chains such as Domino's Pizza, McDonald's, and Roy Rogers. I most recently have worked in the field of Finance/banking and I have a strong understanding of business analytics which will assist me in identifying opportunities as well as possible risks which need to be mitigated and/or eliminated in order to grow.

  • Self Identified Competition

While there are several restaurants in Colonial Beach, there are not Treat Trucks being considered for the Mobile Food court in Colonial Beach therefore the competition by product type is limited only to occasional food trucks which may be in Town for special events. Currently there are no bakeries or donut shops within the town of Colonial Beach. While there may be very limited competition, it is my goal to ensure that CB Treats sets a high customer service and food quality standard to ensure a high level of brand name and recognition. As a resident of Colonial Beach, I have worked hard over the previous two years in meeting fellow business owners and looking for ways to drive customers to my business.
