CD Tax & Financial 47-5252184 | Government Grant Application

CD Tax & Financial | Application Preview

CD Tax & Financial is seeking government grants to enhance its operations and support other small businesses effectively. The funding will be allocated towards payroll, upgrading technology, hiring additional staff, and revamping the company’s website to create a more user-friendly virtual accounting experience. Additionally, the funds will finance marketing efforts for the tax resolution services, aiming to assist taxpayers struggling with tax debt.

The business's goal is to transition into a fully virtual tax, accounting, and representation firm to reach a broader audience of taxpayers and small business owners across the nation. The owner emphasizes the significant efforts made over the past year to support small business owners during the challenging COVID-19 pandemic, often without compensation, resulting in personal and financial hardships. The owner has dealt with the loss of a storefront, her husband's business collapse, and ongoing unemployment issues due to a contested fraud claim, leaving her voiceless in seeking assistance.

Despite these challenges, the owner secured a loan recently to cover employee payroll for a short period. She acknowledges her fragile financial situation yet remains committed to using her tax and accounting knowledge to help others. She recognizes her application may seem risky but insists on her genuine desire to support fellow small business owners while managing her family's needs.

In a competitive landscape dominated by large tax firms such as H&R Block and Jackson Hewitt, the owner believes her competitive edge lies in her authentic, empathetic approach to business. She prides herself on being relatable and passionate about helping others, showcasing her dedication to the community and the challenges they face with tax obligations.

  • Funding Usage

I want to be able to take my business to the next level and become a solid support system for other small business owners. I would use any money received on payroll, upgrading computers and other technology, hiring more staff, major website overhaul to make my business an "easy to use" virtual accountant. I would also use the money to help me market my tax resolution side of my business so that I can affordably help taxpayers who are struggling with tax debt. Basically I want to use any money received to be able to help and support other small businesses without worrying if I can pay my employees or keep a roof over mine and my families head.

  • Business Plan

I want to become a completely virtual tax, accounting, and representation firm so I can extend my reach to taxpayers and small business owners nationwide. In the last year, I have busted my tail to help small business owners keep their heads above water during this crazy COVID year. 95% of the time I was not getting paid for my service so my personal responsibilities suffered. I have lost my storefront, which I am fine with, but there hasn't been much help for me. My husband's business went under due to COVID and because of our kiddos he has taken the role of Mr. Mom. Unfortunately, that hasn't produced a paycheck. I applied for unemployment for myself and my husband and was able to start receiving benefits for myself (when my business money started to get low I wanted to make sure my employees were able to stay employed). Back in September, my unemployment stopped due to (what I am being told by AZ DES) my demographics being changed and I was placed into a fraud investigation. Fast forward to today and I still have not had a resolution for this so-called fraud and getting help from AZ DES is impossible. My voice goes unheard. I was able to secure a loan last week that is not great but at least I have a few more weeks payroll for my employees. I haven't been able to secure a loan with SBA because my credit took a hit when I had to make a choice to keep my employees employed or pay my truck and credit card payments. I just want to be able to help other small business owners and do what I do best when it comes to my knowledge of tax, accounting, and tax resolution services. I know that I appear to be a risk but at the end of the day, I am a small business owner who is just hustling to afford to keep a roof over my family's heads and afford to pay for cheer lessons. I would be forever grateful for any help.

  • Self Identified Competition

H&R Block, Jackson Hewitt, insert any tax resolution company that can afford airtime. I am a small business owner of a tax, accounting, and tax resolution company that goes up against big-time corporations every day. I am real. I feel pain. I tell people all the time that I am not a millionaire because I wear my heart on my sleeve. My passion for helping others sometimes becomes a block as well. I don't like to see small businesses fail or taxpayers who are drowning in tax debt and I don't always know when to turn my billable clock on. I am just a mom, a wife, and a boss.
