  • Funding Usage

Funding would allow purchase and construction of equipment to make the farm more economically competitive and efficient in the current environment. Additionally, it would enable the farm to reach further and better service our community.

  • Business Plan

In the next five years, I would like to see the farm more engaged in the community, both in local beef sales and with other farmers. This requires specific structures, equipment and revenue to become more established and effective with our development and growth; on the farm and within the community. This includes, but is not limited to, the establishment of a farm store that would allow other local farmers in the community to sale local goods and utilize our service, expansion of the herd size, equipment that would better service the farm and allow other services to other farmers in the community. This growth would also enable additional employment opportunities within our community, in addition to promoting small and local businesses opportunities to other small farms in the area. Success of small businesses are largely dependent on our ability to be competitive in our community and having the resources to reach our full potential and growth. Agriculture has grown largely commercial and small farms are becoming increasingly nonprofitable and nonexistent because we are not the primary source of our grown food in the areas we reside or throughout the rest of the country. An investment in a small farm would promote growth and resilience in the community that is critical to the diminishing agricultural economy in the US.

  • Self Identified Competition

Our competitors are chain grocery stores and commercial feed lots. We differ from our competitors because we pasture raise cattle to serve the community and pride ourselves on a quality end product. Our business, promotes the health of the community through use of local suppliers, stores and restaurants within the community, while also providing services to other local farms within the community, which is critical to agriculture within the community, state and country.
