Hammond Brake Shop LLC | Application Preview
Hammond Brake Shop LLC is seeking government grants to facilitate a business relocation and expand its operations. The funding would be directed toward moving to a high-traffic area to attract more clients, as well as investing in new equipment like car lifts and specialty tools to boost productivity.
The business plan involves relocating to a busier location, which is expected to increase the number of vehicles serviced daily. With the expansion, Hammond Brake Shop aims to hire more staff, contributing to the creation of good-paying jobs in Louisville. The long-term vision includes opening additional locations, further enhancing employment opportunities.
The application emphasizes the shop's extensive experience in auto repair and its reputation for building customer trust, as evidenced by positive online reviews. The request for funding is framed as a means to increase visibility and attract a broader customer base.
In terms of competition, Hammond Brake Shop sets itself apart from larger chains such as Big O Tires and Ken Towery’s, which primarily focus on tires and oil changes. While BrakeWay specializes solely in brakes, Hammond Brake Shop aims to offer a wider range of services, including maintenance on belts, pulleys, batteries, and more. Their commitment to fast, friendly service and a versatile offering positions them favorably against these competitors.

Self Identified Competition
Big O tires: They can do brakes, but they really specialize in tires and alignments. We also have a higher star rating on Google. Ken Towery's: The also specialize in tires, and oil changes. They can do brakes but have a higher star rating than them too. BrakeWay: They would be our closest competitors, however all they do is brakes. I have taken many customers from them because their advertised price is lower than they actually charge. Big O: Our goal is fast friendly service on brakes, oil changes, hub bearings, brake lines and hoses. We try to get our clients cars done in about an hour, Big O really wants to sell you tires and alignments. Ken Towery's: Ken Towery's has the same issues as Big O. If your car or truck needs replacement part we will show the customer first. Brakeway: All they do is brakes. We want to be more versatile by servicing more of our clients needs than just tire or just brakes. We could maintenance belts, pulleys, bulbs, batteries windshield wipers, fluids, and of course brakes.
