The Taylor 829 Foundation Inc 202211081637849 | Government Grant Application

The Taylor 829 Foundation Inc | Application Preview

The Taylor 829 Foundation Inc. is applying for government grants to provide essential financial support for disadvantaged students pursuing careers in medicine. The funding will be used to award scholarships of $10,000 to 20 qualified low-income college students, including those in pre-med programs. Additionally, the foundation aims to grant a total of $50,000 to support low-income students from grammar through high school, helping cover school supplies, lab fees, and other educational costs.

The foundation has partnered with the National Urban League, leveraging its extensive experience working in low-income communities. This collaboration will facilitate connections with educators to create a pathway for students aspiring to become medical doctors. Through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, and mental health support, the foundation will help these students stay focused on their educational objectives.

The need for funding is underscored by the current shortage of medical professionals, exacerbated by losses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many aspiring doctors from disadvantaged backgrounds face significant financial barriers that hinder their pursuit of a medical career. The foundation believes in the importance of representation in healthcare, asserting that children need to see professionals that reflect their own backgrounds.

In terms of competition, the foundation acknowledges Doctors Without Borders as a leading organization but emphasizes its unique approach. Unlike this established entity, The Taylor 829 Foundation Inc. will require scholarship recipients to commit to serving their communities for at least three years after graduation. This commitment aims to ensure that the benefits of the funding extend beyond individual success, fostering community development and support.

Overall, the foundation argues that investing in these students is crucial for addressing the medical workforce shortage and enhancing healthcare access in underserved communities. The need for such programs is both urgent and compelling.

The student's success will be the Foundation's success. The length of time that it takes to educate and train this next generation of medical doctors every student who aspires to become a Medical Doctors need the country's attention and support especially those living in low-income, disadvantaged communities since the financial burden is one of the leading reason why so many of them do not pursue a career in medicine. Finally, at the end of each of our lives, we will all need the assistance of a doctor to receive the necessary medical care and/or assistance.
