Birch and Beau 000824912 | Government Grant Application

Birch and Beau | Application Preview

Birch and Beau is seeking government funding to support its transition from an online-only business to a physical storefront or a mobile boutique. The expansion aims to enhance revenue by reaching a broader customer base. The owner, who holds an MBA with a focus on entrepreneurship, has prior experience as a store manager, successfully boosting revenue at a previous boutique by 20%.

The competitive landscape includes established online boutiques such as Pink Tag Boutique and Hello Scout Boutique, both of which are profitable but currently have no plans to open physical locations. Birch and Beau's unique selling point lies in its intention to create a tangible brand presence that brings joy through fashion, setting it apart from competitors who are focused solely on online sales. The requested funding will help turn this vision into reality.

  • Funding Usage

Wanting to expand the store - open a storefront would help increase my revenue.

  • Business Plan

The goal is to move from online only to a brick and mortar location or get a truck and transform it into a boutique on wheels. A brick and mortar location/truck would have the opportunity to reach more people. I have a solid business plan, I went to school for my MBA with a concentration in entrepreneurship and I ran a boutique as the store manager for 2 years and increased their revenue by 20%. I just need the help to make my plans a reality.

  • Self Identified Competition

Pink Tag Boutique - online boutique in Louisville, KY. They've been in business for many years and are very profitable. Hello Scout Boutique - online boutique who recently moved from Louisville to another state. They have been in business longer, but are also very profitable. Stella Boutique - online boutique who started around the same time as me. They have no intentions of expanding their brand. They intend on staying online only and not opening a brick and mortar location. I want to reach more people and create a brand that spreads joy through fashion.
