The Farm at Dover Vineyards | Application Preview
The Farm at Dover Vineyards is seeking a government grant of $500,000 to construct a new building and pavilion, allowing for indoor operations. Currently, the farm operates outdoors only, hosting live music and farm-to-table dinners, which significantly enhance sales. With the new indoor space, the farm plans to expand its offerings and provide more on-site experiences for customers.
The farm is strategically located on a major highway in a growing urban area, attracting customers seeking locally sourced produce, wine, and meats, as well as a space for family engagement and relaxation. While facing competition from nearby farms, including The Bush N Vine, Barbee Farms, and Correll Farms, the farm prides itself on cooperation with these suppliers and offers a diverse range of products. Building the new facility will enhance their competitive edge, enabling them to create a more welcoming atmosphere and serve customers better, positioning themselves as a local grocery alternative.

Business Plan
We will be able to grow our business over the next 5 years if we can secure 500,000 in funding so we can build our indoor sales space and pavillion. We currently host live music at the farm on Saturday nights and and farm to table dinners using our produce. These events are a great boost to our sales. We would like to offer more on-the-farm experiences like these, but we need an indoor space in order to host the events. Our farm is located on a main highway in a rapidly urbanizing area. Our customers come to our farm not only to buy locally grown produce, wine, meats, and other farm products, but to enjoy the outdoors. We serve as a place for families to relax, hang out with farm animals, and connect with their local farmers.

Self Identified Competition
Our top three competitors are also our biggest suppliers. The farming industry is very cooperative and I'm happy to say that we help sell their food as well as our own. The Bush N Vine Barbee Farms Correll Farms Our biggest advantage is our location along a mainhighway, and, if we build this building, we will be able to better serve customers in a better atmosphere. Our product mix is extensive and we like to think of ourselves as a local grocery store.
