Bell Projects Ltd. 86-1879992 | Government Grant Application

Bell Projects Ltd. | Application Preview

Bell Projects Ltd. is seeking government grants to cover monthly operating costs related to securing a physical space for their business. The goal is to establish a permanent venue for hosting monthly exhibitions, which will increase sales of local artists' artworks and enable the reinvestment of profits into future shows. Over the next five years, the business aims to expand by hiring additional staff to enhance operations and its impact on the community.

The mission of Bell Projects Ltd. focuses on supporting local artists who often struggle to find platforms to sell their work. By facilitating connections between artists and collectors, the business aims to help artists advance their careers and gain new opportunities, thus contributing to the overall growth of the local art community and society.

In terms of competition, Bell Projects views other local galleries, such as Dateline and David B. Smith Gallery, as part of a supportive network rather than strict rivals. The unique competitive edge of Bell Projects lies in its commitment to local, underserved artists. The owner prioritizes the success and growth of artists over financial gain and is deeply involved in every aspect of the exhibitions. The integration of educational programming into the exhibition model offers a distinct way for audiences to engage with the artwork, which is a feature that sets Bell Projects apart from competitors.

  • Business Plan

I plan to grow my business in the next five years by acquiring a permanent physical space in order to host monthly exhibitions. A secured space will allow for longer duration of exhibitions, which in turn will allow for more sales of artworks. I plan to reinvest those profits into subsequent shows, funding the operating costs to continue to run my business. In five years, I will also hope to hire additional staff to help operate the business to further its growth and impact. It is important to me to support local artists and their work. Oftentimes artists make work but are unable to gain the platforms necessary to sell their work. It is my goal to facilitate these transactions, and connect them with collectors, which in turn helps artists further their careers and secure additional opportunities beyond their opportunities with my business. I want the local community of art and artists to thrive, which improves the greater society as a whole.

  • Self Identified Competition

I feel like my competitors are more like a community of supporters helping to build a robust scene of artists and art collectors in Denver. Specifically, I join competitors like Dateline, a local gallery operating on a monthly exhibition cycle. Others would be David B. Smith Gallery as well as K Contemporary. I am different than my competitors because of the level of support I can offer my clients. I truly care about the artists I work with and want them to succeed ahead of my own monetary ambitions. I have a local focus in working with underserved and underrepresented artists within the community, whereas some of my competitors work with artists outside of Denver or well-established artists who might not benefit as much from the opportunity of having their work exhibited since they might already carry that notoriety or fame. I enjoy the collaborative nature of working alongside artists and appreciate the connection that is fostered and the opportunity for growth. I am passionate about supporting local, living artists and enjoy sharing that passion with others. I am involved in every step of creating an exhibition and that level of care and personal investment is more prominently displayed than my competitors. I also plan to incorporate programming and educational opportunities into my exhibition model so that a wider audience will be able to engage with the artwork on view at various levels of understanding, beyond just the visual. This is something that I believe my competitors have not considered or have not implemented.
