Fulfillment Micro Farms LTD Fulfillment Micro Farms LTD | Government Grant Application

Fulfillment Micro Farms LTD | Application Preview

Fulfillment Micro Farms LTD is seeking government grant funding to enhance their infrastructure through the development of a heated nursery and additional utility connections, alongside solar panels for greenhouse operations. The business focuses on purchasing urban lots to cultivate produce, with plans to plant 1/3 acre of Elephant Garlic projected to generate between $55,000 and $100,000 in 2025. Establishing a heated nursery will not only facilitate the sale of houseplants and vegetable starts but will also reduce costs associated with seed cultivation.

The business aims to address the needs of the local community, which is classified as a food desert, by promoting healthy food education and offering fresh produce. This social enterprise approach emphasizes local and statewide sales, and includes partnerships with local schools for produce supply. The competition primarily consists of large agricultural companies that rely on chemical farming methods. Fulfillment Micro Farms distinguishes itself by providing locally accessible, organically grown produce, benefiting the community, particularly during times of transportation challenges as experienced during the pandemic.

  • Business Plan

I buy urban lots and grow produce. This year I am going to be planting 1/3 acre with Elephant Garlic which will bring in from $55,000 to $100,000 conservatively on the market in 2025. The placement of a heated nursery will give us extra markets in selling houseplants and vegetable starts. The nursery will also save us on the cost of starting our own seeds. Our market is growing so fast that we have to expand to keep up. I am a small business man who is also trying to help out the community were I am located. This community is a food desert and with this grant I will also be able to reach out to the community and help them learn to grow their own healthy fresh food. I am more of a social enterprise in that respect, but we sell locally and state wide. In some cases we grow produce for local schools.

  • Self Identified Competition

My top competitors are big agriculture with their toxins and large volume production. We offer fresh organically grown produce that is accessible locally. This is an advantage for the community if there are any transportation issues in the future like our past pandemic.
