Life Balance Counseling, LLC | Application Preview
Life Balance Counseling, LLC is seeking government grants to support its operations during the Covid-19 pandemic. The funding will be used to cover expenses and pay for contracted help for three months, as well as to transition the practice to a telehealth model. This shift requires new software and adjustments due to a reduction in in-person clients. The owner emphasizes the necessity of grants due to personal financial obligations.
The business plan includes returning to regular office operations after the pandemic subsides and exploring expansion opportunities, particularly in telehealth. The owner views the shift to virtual services as a long-term growth avenue that will allow the hiring of home-based clinicians to provide mental health support across the state.
The justification for funding highlights the essential services offered, including trauma therapy and management of chronic pain, anxiety, and depression. The owner, a certified trauma therapist endorsed by EMDRIA, enjoys a solid reputation and consistent referrals in the community, although current capacity as a sole proprietor limits service availability.
While there are other therapists in the area, the owner believes that competition is not a significant factor, as clients seek out her specific expertise in trauma treatment. The business holds a competitive edge through a holistic, collaborative approach and training in various modalities not commonly found among local therapists.

Funding Usage
This amount will help me cover expenses and continue to pay for my contracted help for 3 months. It will also help with some of the expenses and losses of converting my office into a virtual office/ telehealth (new software, less clients who can meet by telehealth.) This will help me stay in business during the Covid-19 crisis. I'm only interested in grants, because of the sum of my family's debt.

Business Plan
I plan to resume regular operations in my office after Covid-19 is mitigated. I'm working on an expansion plan, but it is not complete at this time. I believe that Covid-19 forced us into adopting telehealth which will be changing how we provide mental health services. I see it as a long term opportunity to expand my business, by hiring clinicians that could work from their homes and provide state-wide services. I'm a mental health provider, who is providing an essential service to the community. I help people transform trauma, chronic pain, depression and anxiety. I'm the only Trauma therapist who is approved by EMDRIA in our area to provide EMDR therapy (which is the most effective form of trauma therapy.) My business has a steady stream of referrals and I have a good reputation in the community. At this time, I'm not able to accommodate all the referrals I receive because I'm a sole proprietor.

Self Identified Competition
There are other therapists in our county. I don't feel that any of them are my competitors, because people seek me out specifically for my skills. I gladly refer to and cooperate with other clinicians and they refer people to me. I specialize in trauma treatment and chronic pain. My approach is holistic and collaborative, and includes a number of modalities that other therapists in the area are not trained in.
